I've recently purchased Beyond Divinity, due to the positive reviews I have heard on Divine Divinity. I have not played DD, mainly because it was always out of stock in the shops I went to.
I have some questions regarding BD though, as there were some things I found concerning to me.
1.The first area seems to be a very long dungeon. I personally hate dungeons above all else in any RPG (*cringes to remember Dungeon Siege*). Will these dungeons end soon and not be a large portion of the RPG? Will dungeons be the most significant locations in the future?
2.I love environments, travelling to cities and villages, etc. Will Beyond Divinity have any of this? Eg will I have the freedom to explore and travel from one town to the next or such, as in Baldur's Gate? Are there any cities/towns at all?
3.Can I eventually ditch the Death Knight? I don't mind having him in the game, but eventually I just want to focus on my own character. I feel that a great deal of the immersiveness is lost, because I have to put half of my focus onto a character I don't really want to manage. Eventually, can I play with just my character alone, or go exploring the game world without him?
4.Is the general scope of the Battlefields the same? Ie will it always be a village with quests, and a wilderness to fight? No towns or cities etc, right?
So far the game has been putting me off, because everything I personally hate most in a RPG is present so far (no offense intended, its just a matter of personal taste). I was hoping this would be something like a traditional Baldur's Gate RPG.
Take care,
