Sounds like you have some other software trying to run when BD starts, (as though you were in game and hit alt-tab) and it's causing an intermittent conflict.
Check your system tray (lower right corner, by the clock, in windows and before starting the game), do you have a lot of icons there? You should have no more than 2-3 while a game is running, if that many. Laptops often include extra software to drive special video drivers, mouse drivers, or other special devices for the laptop.
It can be tricky to turn those things off and then back on, but that would be my suggestion, shut off all running software in your system tray and startup group, stop your antivirus package from starting, etc.
