Well, first of all, I would like to thank all of you for your prompt and intelligent replies to my query. I already run Ad-Aware 6.0 Professional and it hasn't detected any spyware, my Norton Antivirus is disabled, the game itself had me install DirectX 9.0 (not 9.0c though) and the only other icons in my systray are the volume icon, my disabled Norton icon, my Power/Battery icon and a Winamp Agent icon. (Oh and a Network icon, too) I'm not sure what the problem is, or why it would fix it once to reinstall the game and not fix it this time, but its very frustrating, as I was kind of getting into the game before all this started happening. Man, somehow all this just makes me miss Baldurs Gate II, heh. So, if its not another program trying to function while I'm playing this game, could it be maybe a graphics driver? Though, I'm not sure how that could be as it fixed itself once and then happened again. Can a driver problem cause intermittent crashes? I was thinking it was an all-or-none thing. Hmm, perhaps I should have started this thread in Technical, eh? Oh, btw I, just today, installed the v1.45 patch and that didn't fix it either.
