Honestly, I accidently click on one frog, cat, tibar, you name it. Then the rest of the world's frogs, cats, tibar, blah, all become hostile forever. That is extremely annoying. It makes me have to fight more enemies than I want, destroys the wildlife/critter feeling, and it sucks a lot to fight masses of level 4 critters when I'm lvl 17 or so.
Please, its just basicly a waste of time, all because of a single misclick.
Take care, TR

Dead on! I have no idea how a dog in a foreign city can possibly know I killed a wolf two hundred miles away! Not talking about frogs and such!

I am also trying to understand the "master-hive-mind" of the critters....
But i think we all agree that they shouldnt just attack..... I am sure Larian will not include that in DD2

Hopefully... They might have a collective mind like in PS:T but I have yet not caught any single one of them practising magic so...

Take care, TR I understand the frustration, but keep in mind, there is a peace mode in the game for a reason...if you choose to walk around in a hostile mode, and aren't careful in combat, then there are consequences to this. On the other hand, you could role play it a bit more, and only draw your weapon when attacked, not use area effect spells around helpless animals... Playing Beyond Divinity as though it's the role playing equivalent of Diablo or Sacred is going to lead to some frustrations, because the game has a lot more role playing depth to it - and having those extra options available can have drawbacks if you choose to ignore features of the game. If you want to clear out such critters quickly, take the lighting storm spell. It affects creatures even slightly off the screen, and should kill 90% of everything you see in a single shot. Very handy.

Thats all true and all, but what if you forget about peace mode? It becomes a real pain to have to fight those critters, knowing they hate you for all time. I don't like killing critters, not just the frustration, but the fact that I don't like attacking little harmless animals. But I have no choice now, its too late. I don't have any save games that far back. So I use that lightning spell, it sounds more like a tiny attempt at compensation than any real fix. Its just a waste of mana, time, and effort. Isn't there any way at all to make peace with the animals? I'm really sorry I killed frog number 34384337. Why does frog number 1 to 32321938213712312 have to start attacking me?
Why do all the animals have group minds anyway? And what in the world possesses a little frog, or cat, etc, to attack a warrior? What kind of role playing is that anyway? Every RPG I play involving critters, killing one does not equate to an Animal Union formed against you, in a bitter vendetta to the very death.
So I walk around with my weapons at the ready. There are lots of monsters about. In fact, I am fighting a monster right then. Oh wait, I misclick on a frog, but I don't even need to reach the frog. I start re-attacking the monster. Oh wait, the frog is angry that I even thought about attacking it. Its coming to get me! Oh no its hopping on top of my warrior! Ouch ouch, zero damage! But I am a nice ranger, so I don't attack the frog. Oh no, all the other frogs in the universe hate me too now. What can I do? I must run from all the frogs, so I can continue to role play as the nice ranger!
*cough*
Take care, TR

This is so funny. Whenever a creature attacks me, I'm like "WTF? Did I accidently attack one of them?", so I reload and find out the these creatures are SUPPOSED to be hostile.

If at first the creature doesnt attack you with constant "Missed" messages, they were meant to attack you... (with the exception of the stonebiters - they do LOTS of damage)

This DOES sound annoying. I just started playing BD and I'm not looking forward to dealing with this. I chose to kill the rats since a new character needs all the experience he can get. Now I learn that rats everywhere are going to be harassing me...great.
Hopefully there's a hex editor that can "turn off" the hostility switch.

I havnt heard of a hex editor that has been able to turn this off... but there are a couple of critters you DONT want to turn hostile....
1. Stone biters (they have an annoying skill - beserk - that makes then a very tough enemy if they live long enough to go beserk) 2. Tibars (unless you have a happy archer, set to agressive, so it will automatically take out tibars without you having to tell it to do so. Having a melee char do this will only mean death, since he will run after the tibar the whole time... better to let the arrows do the running )
There are ways to work around the hostile situation... Dont walk through peaceful areas in combat mode (vilages etc), just click once on the enemy to kill it (i know we tend to go click happy on a enemy, thinking it will kill it faster)...
With that in mind i have been able to go through the game numerous times without having angry critters (other than snails... i LOVE killing them, since they make a funny sound when they are hostile )

hahaha its troo they do
but people need to know that they are only hostile for that act and do not stay agresive the entier game
for instence u need to kill a rat or to in act1 but when u get to act2 the rats in the dungion do not come after u.
when life gives u lemons
clone them and make supper lemons
that will rool the world in your name
