I agree with Ub...
The battlefields are there for the gamers that are not that advanced in fighting techniques. When i started RPG's i got killed by every 2nd skelly.... now i walk into the SAME game, with the SAME stats and survive scores full of them with ease....
Even on hardcore, i ended up only using the battlefields as trading posts... then after the main story line was done (for the act), i would go to the battlefields and just walk throught them mindlessly killing everything, just so i can finish the quests....
