IIRC fast-traveling with horses is even faster! like you don't notice it, but less time has been 'waisted' and ofcours horses are a shown of uh how do you say this, richness? and then if you use armor on them they look really cool, and if you would be able to run over your enemies it would be soooo fun!!(but you can't <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/puppyeyes.gif" alt="" />)
