If you look at this this way.... Blizzard did some extensive beta-testing in the USA. Because of that, WoW was already advertized and people played it way before the official release. Sony saw it and made a week free in EQII. Funcom saw Blizzard and Sony giving free trial periods and made Anarchy Online free for one year.
