Greetings and Salutations,

I just wanted to extend my thanks and gratitude for a wonderful game in Divine Divinity and a very courteous and helpful following of similar minded gamers of this genre.

A short personal background I am Tom, aka Krakaskula, name taken from my Diablo I & II days, which btw I still have 48 active accounts on bnet, anyway between my days of taking care of my family and of course working, like a dog, I try to squeeze in as much of this game play as I can. I hooked onto DD about 10 months ago and have been enjoying every day since. I try not to rush through a game just to finish it I treat it like a fine wine or fine brandy and sip it and enjoy its warm embrace.

Moving on, I finally felt as though I had completed enough or 98% of the main and side quests that I thought it would be time to move onto the council and end quests, when I realized I really wanted to see where the Eleanessa quest would lead. After I had finally completed all the council quests I wanted to go back to see what she would say to me now and then I got the find the amulet of my grandma quest and I thought man if didn't already have it then I where the hell hadn't I looked ? I was fairly baffled and then I thought it was the dark elven amulet I had found much earlier in the game, but it wasn't and actually I still am not sure where it belongs, but regardless I had no clue where to look for this amulet. I backtracked thought the dark forest areas, talked to all the elven people in all the different areas, even the idiot elf that stands in the park in Verditis, but nothing.

Finally resorted to these forums and had no idea there was still such an extensive following of this game. I had bookmarked Metzlers walkthrough quite a while ago, which by the way helped immensely, but it didn't have any mention of this particular side quest.

So while browsing the forums I happened upon a thread in dutch, I do not know Dutch, but could make out enough that seemed to point to the Dwarven Halls. Well imagine my surprise when I put 2 and 2 together and remembered another thread that mentioned one person making a fake neclace so figured out the Dwarven Jeweler might be my answer. It was !

I have a level 39 Warrior now that will be ringing the bell of summoning so he can save the lands and return to his beloved Elven sweetheart.

Thank you all ever so much and if I can be of assistance please do not hesitate to ask. I have done fairly well and think I should be able to tackle the tough fights to come.

Oh btw hot tip when you do the 3 items conversion quest and want a hot sword save of course and keep shooting for one that has freeze and/or poison built in, very handy for when you get to areas where no magic is allowed, it slows the crowds!

The dark elf amulet is an easter egg. The skeleton where you found it is Drizzt D'Urden, and the initials C.B. on the description refer to Cattie Brie, from the Dark Elf books.

Hi Krakaskula,

Many thanks for the nice words and comments! It's always a very big pleasure to read that people like the game you were working on for such a long time.

Thanks!

Thank you all for the warm and heartfelt welcome it is really great to meet and play with folks from all different ethnicity's and living here in LA, believe me, we have a very diverse population to contend with, personally some can be a challenge, but still I believe they all have great potential to add and make this world a better place to be.

And as far as my progress my main, or first character on DD, is basically ready to ring the bell and plunge into the final areas, I have also started a couple other chars as well, but they are still younger than my main warrior.

Thanks for the heads up on the dark elf amulet I am familiar with Drizzt and am sad to hear of his demise, if that is possible. I played Baldurs Gate which used his presence to lend their game some depth as well and have seen the many books about his adventures, unfortunately family life cuts into reading time so I have not been able to read more than scattered blurbs, I do have them on a wish list somewhere.

I definitely expect to play this game well after I finish with my first char and you can sign me up now for DD 2, I am hoping that the sequel might allow for multi-play online, because I have a couple buddies here in Oregon and Washington with similar tastes and I totally managed to talk my buddy in Washington to get DD too bad we couldn't join for online adventure.

We also just had a free weekend adventure with Guild Wars that was pretty fun and quite a good idea to put it out there for free to get people enticed and ready to buy once it goes gold.

I know theres a lot work that goes into making these games especially ones with quality and staying power. I vote that Larian take all the time they need to make Divine Divinity Two so we can all play for many years to come.

I am a pretty adept digger for information, but if I get stuck again you won't mind helping a fellow out of a tough spot ?

Thanks again

Kraka

Wow! Lynn with Larian!

I am honored, although I see you are a moderator as well, I am still touched by the fact that one the makers behind this great game has personally replied such as you have, thank you! and I think one of the best areas of DD that I enjoyed the most was the Quest for the Armor of Larian and I do believe I rescued you from a certain demise and do not think your game animators portrayed you justly you are much more lovely in person

Sorry perhaps I lathered the flattery on a little thick, but then again hopefully you won't mind.

Thanks,

Kraka

I just thought of something I realized sometimes Lynn can be a guys name and hopefully I did not offend, but if you are a guy heres a hearty handshake as I really prefer women to men !

The only information released so far about DD2 is that it will be full 3D and have multiplayer support.

Don't you worry, I am a woman

And the Quest of the Larian Armor is the only quest I didn't do in the game. I simply forgot about it. Shame on me...
So I haven't seen myself in the game, but maybe it's better like this

Whew! Well that is good to hear and I am relieved that my male instincts served me well again, hopefully your family does not get too upset when you spend all your waking moments working on projects such as these, but then again I am sure the rewards are well served.

Got to tell you I have always been a huge fan of Alf myself, as I love to eat cats too however I do not think Alf would be much of a match for Arhu.
Just kidding I love cats and we have a fine specimen in our house named Jasmine, she is my little fuzzy doggie as she actually plays fetch !! with knotted up plastic bags, hehe quite a site and always fine entertainment for guests to see.

"Hey gimme five, here's three keep the change !"

Anyway I put a temp avatar until I can make a more appropriate one, this is one I use for my fantasy football team, but as you can see it does well to imply my character name. Oh and my signature may be a little corny, but it is an original I generated for my D2 chars.

Take care and will chat you later.

Actually, you are the only one that can see your avatar, since it is on your hard drive rather than a web site. If your ISP does not offer any web space, I believe a couple people in the New avatars! topic have offered to host avatars for others (though on an individual basis, IIRC, rather than a standing offer).

See also; free web host with hotlinking? (for avatars) - some information may be out of date, as web hosts can change their policies or practices

Yikes thanks Raze for the tip that will be my next undertaking.
specially since I took this past holiday weekend as an opportunity to finish DD with my main warrior. I certainly did not rush through rather I made a thorough and complete sweep of the whole LOD and Black Lake area swiping out all the red x's I could locate before polishing off DoL with a swift and decisive final battle. The only thing I would have liked to see about the ending might be some sort of summation of how my character ended up stat-wise with perhaps a title of some sorts just to get a more complete feeling of completion. I was real close to lvl 50 before taking on the DoL and finishing him off should have netted my warrior another 5 or 6 lvls, but...
anyway great game overall and I am back working a couple other chars now !

Thanks,

Kraka

Have you tried to go to the dwarf jeweler in the dwarven halls? Show him the drawing Eleanessa has given to you...
