I am at L2 in the Raanaar Riftrunner Acadamy, I have completed the other 2 Tasks but I need Kohar Root to complete the first one, I saw it in the Alchemists but it disapeared. Where can I find some?

You can get Kohar Root from the imp Nixfix, by trading with him for a Quetzalcellona Mushroom which can be found on that maintenance tunnel level.

Is that the service tunnel which had the octopuss like creature? if it is I <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/eek.gif" alt="" /> have already killed it but it gave up nothing. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/xmassmiley.gif" alt="" />

The mushroom is just sitting on the ground, not dropped by a monster. Explore the area to the far west of Nixfix...

Got the mushroom now, but when I go to Nixfix and try to trade the mushroom is not in my bag any sugs? <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/puppyeyes.gif" alt="" />

Just talk to Nixfix, and the option should come up about the mushroom (the exchange is done though dialog rather than the trade window). If not, talk to him about the root or flooge frogs, and he will bring up the mushroom.

If you have the first summoning quest and read the summoning book in the library to find out which ingredients you need, you should be able to ask Nixfix about the kohar root. Nixfix says he has some, but it is for his flooge frog, then mentions that flooge frogs like quetzalcellona mushrooms even more than kohar roots. The next time you talk to Nixfix with the mushroom, you should be able to say 'I have the mushroom' to initiate the trade.

I have the book in my sack however Nixfix still does not make any reference to the mushroom or the root. PLEASE HELP IF POS. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/kissyou.gif" alt="" />

I am assuming you have spoken to Belehram (the components clerk) first, and he told you that the shipment is late (or something if i remember correctly), after that nix realises that he has the root.

Did you read the book in the library, and then get the cut scene as you started to leave with the DK asking which creature you needed to summon?
If talking to the component clerk doesn't help, try dropping the book and mushroom outside the room (or the room above) and talk to Nixfix again.
Did you go through all the speech options with Tax and Nixfix?

Already spoken to the components clerk, tried dropping book, and comps outside(above Nixfix) no help. Also I have sorted out the drug problem and found the stratigies book but everone still refers to it. You should not be able to do the second summoning test before completing the first one, so that is probably what it preventing Nixfix from bringing up the root/mushroom.

You could swap inventory files to get the root, though I'll have to reload a save at that point to get them. If you can complete the second test and move on, then you would just miss a bit of experience not completing the first test.

Completed the 2nd & 3rd tests no problem but cannot do the first due to Nixfix. Does this mean that I must start from a new game? <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/think.gif" alt="" />

Somehow it seems that you jumped the story line.... you were not supposed to be able to carry on with 2 until 1 is completed....

Just out of curiosity, did you walk into the room of the 2nd test via the door? or did you manage to get into the room some other way???

You should not need to start over. Go talk to the Raanaar in the centre room of the level, who should open the door to the room south with the stairs to the next level.


If he doesn't recognize that you have completed the third summoning test, you can bypass the locked door. Possible methods to do this include;

[*] Teleporting anywhere (via hex editor)

[*] stand by the wall and alt-tab the game a few times to see if you can shift the character position slightly and get through

[*] the trick described in armory trick in act 1 to get a summoning doll through the wall and then use it to enter the BF and exit

Regards test 2/3 yes I just walked into the rooms after talking with the components clerk.
Tried to alt/tab but it has no effect.
