Plastic guys suck.
Why such post?
I have just one answer that was always true to me: bad presents are presents from peeps who do not feel me. One of them is my mom, another is my dad. This is sad.
But my girl is always right, I can always say Bingo:) (we had 10 years this year)

A plunger.
Tom liked to give out crappy gifts. He thought it was funny. He though we thought it was funny too. Actually, I don't know that he cared what we thought. I certainly don't care for him any more (due to other reasons, not just the plunger).

Tom liked to give out crappy gifts. Stop him Hande ... As for good gifts, if you have good contact with a person then you can expect that he will catch your needs and interests frequency, and make you valuable gift.

As for good gifts, if you have good contact with a person then you can expect that he will catch your needs and interests frequency, and make you valuable gift. I do not think that is always true. Perhaps for you it is, sorry for your sad mom & dad story (trust me, I'm in the same situation, I to have a mother that sucks!) Maybe we can talk about our lost childhood? But even my big sister who I love so much could not give me the right present.(I know, I sound really ungrateful and spoiled, but believe me I'm not) Maybe some people don't have any inspiration or no money. In my case, that's the thing. When I'm out of cash, I tend to MAKE my presents. Never heard of the sockbunny? My idea!!

please don't be harsh on people who give lousy gifts. most of the times, well according to my experience, they are just lousy at picking gifts eventhough they care. to tell u the truth, i feel that i am one of such people.
& galadriel, i do make special cards for people i care for, especially when i have totally no idea on what to give.
well, back on topic; the worst xmas present is not receiving any xmas call at all from very close friends. i am a simple person; all i want most of the time is to be remembered & appreciated.

It really depends on the source of the gift. Someone who knows you well should be able to get you something you can appreciate, even if it's not perfect. Perhaps, more to the point, you know what they meant rather than just looking at the crappy gift they gave you. One thing that really helped me was a female friend of mine. She took me lingerie, perfume and jewelery shopping one day. She wasn't shopping for herself, she took me to teach me. (I was a naive boy whom she felt the responsibility to train.) The advice she gave has been invaluable in selecting gifts for people, and not just in lingerie, perfume and jewelery, but anything that requires a personal touch. Thank you Jenny!

Since all in my family writes wishinglists everybody knows what everybody whants. And since most of us have pretty bad imagination (I usually buy chokolate. To everyone...) we buy what's on the list. And therefore we allways get what we whant, and therefore we're never suprized. (Hey, KOTOR ! Exactly what I whanted! I can't believe you knew I whanted this! I'm so very suprized!) And that's why it's so difficult to remember any bad presents. Maybe it's the one time my friend was about to give me my gift. And he gave me this parcel. It was kind of soft, which I said, so my fater said: "It's probably the underpants " (it's the usuall joke in our family, nobody whants underpants, so we joke about everything being underpants). I said "no way!" since noone never get any underpants. Except me that very time... Because it WAS acually underpants that my friend had lieing around, so he gave them to me. I've never used them...

As a child I caught “Rocky Mountain Spotted” fever and was sick from Mid. December until the beginning of February. Two of those days I had a Temperature of 107 deg. and was hallucinating because of it. I missed the whole Holidays. That was my worst gift. Kyra_Ny

Oh my, were they the best Chocolates I have ever had in my life!!! The Chocolate was so rich and good they made my eyes glaze over in pure chocolate euphoria!

@ Kyra. Great idea of you to buy chocolates from Belgium!! It's good for America to know Belgium for these things and not only for our horrible people like Dutroux. Thank you America! with American flag (Union Jack, right?)
@ Lynn, I must say that chocolates comes before the beer, unless it's beer like Rodenbach or Belle-vue! Getting thirsty allready? Haha
