Ok, now that i opened all my presents, i am curious to know who got what <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/evilgrin1.gif" alt="" />

Here is what i got
1. More chocolates from clients than i WANT to eat.
2. a Jack Daniels collectors edition tin set with glases in (i LOVE it)
3. A Mug saying "Bad Girl" from someone i dont like (who probably means the mug as a message - but i dont care.... if you intrude on my relationship i WILL be a bad girl)
4. A home made bone bead neclace (i love this too)
5. Some scented soaps and lotions (i have never seen a xmas without these in someone's stocking - lol the sign of immagination running low?)
6. A set of rare spice in very nice containers (they knew i love cooking)
7. A computer desk that all my stuff fits on (now THAT is a miracle - i have never been able to find one)
8. A computer case (very very nice one too)
9. A DVD player (the one in my bedroom broke 3 weeks ago - so compliments to my mom for being observant)
10. FLUE - if i find the person who put THAT in my stocking, he will die a slow and painful death <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/sad.gif" alt="" /> at least AS painful as my nose is by now - i feel like Rudolf the rednose reindeer.

Okay, so here`s what I got:

- "Meteor" and "The da Vinci Code" by Dan Brown (I really love his books, really exciting and he`s got an interesting opinion of the catholic church which I share(in some points))
- A calendar of my starsign(Taurus), it tells you every day what it`s going to be like
-some heartshaped boxes(because I`m unable to get my room tidy)
- Lord of the rings - Return of the king S.E.E. (finally got it <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/XmasJump.gif" alt="" /> )
- a green shirt saying "I feel better when I`m bad"... <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/evilgrin1.gif" alt="" />
- a picture my neigbours made (they`re 3 and 4 years old, so I woud call it "modern, alternative art" <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/silly.gif" alt="" />, but it`s very cute indeed <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/winkwink.gif" alt="" />)
- a calendar with naked men <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/XmasEek.gif" alt="" /> (present my ex-boyfriend gave me, but it`s not him in the pictures <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif" alt="" /> )

I hope you all enjoyed your christmas and presents as much as I did. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

Bye, Hap <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wave.gif" alt="" />

So, Happyflower, you are a Taurus to? When is your birthday? Mine is on the 4th of may. Maybe we share the same characteristics?

@galadriel: My birthday s on the 30th of April <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/winkwink.gif" alt="" />
In Germany the 30th of April is called "witch`s night". There`s a story saying, that all the witches come together on a mount called "Brocken" in this night and they dance around a fire with their brooms and fly.
So I always tell the people I`m a real witch because I`m born in "witch`s night" <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/winkwink.gif" alt="" />

Nice story linked to your birthday, I wish mine was so exciting. My parents just got very hot that night in august so...hihi

@ Stone
I did not know that there were books about elfs. Maybe I'm able to find some in Flemmish? English is a little too hard to read and German is too much a challenge for me. Don't know any word in German except "Bitte, spritzen zie", don't ask were I picked up that line!!!

@ Lady Rain
You should contact the editioner-company of those books and I you don't have any succes there, you must talk to the writer of the books. If he's still alive, that is.
When I was looking for a specific book, the writer was the only one who still had 2 copies of the book. One was for his grandchildren and I got the other one. And there was his autograph to! Good luck!

I have contacted the local importer of "wizard books" (we became good friends in the meantime), and he is hunting for them for me... he found 7 books for me so far that was also out of print. So its just a matter of time before he tracks down the rest for me <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

Thanks though <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

I gave myself the new album of Tony Banks of Genesis : "Seven". <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

Also, I got the "book of lost tales" by Tolkien. It's a part of a series of books going deeper into the origins of Tolkien's works. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

By the way : Nice signature, Galadriel. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/winkwink.gif" alt="" />

Did not ment any harm to anybody, but I got so proud of the fact that I had spoken with a famous person and that he really signed that book to my hubbie. Ok, he's not Stephen King or Virginia Andrews but for us Flemmisch people he is an icon in writing youthbooks. He has won several prices with his writing and his books are an good way of learning about history, if you are someone whos is interested but can't concentrate on bare facts. Anyway, I did not ment to be so hard on you, Alrik. Sorry 'bout that, friends again? <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif" alt="" />

Okay, I'll try to translate it :

First, my dictionary translates "Rückkopplung" as "feed-back".

Second, the word "Nebenwirkung" can be translated as a "side-effect".

In my signature I post a very old inscription that was in the wood of one of the seats in the "Hörsaal" (a hall where speeches and lectures are held) of the Geology and Geography and Mineralogy and Kristallographie (all of these used it) of the University at Cologne.

The inscription sounds like a quotation : It seems (to me) as if someone had really mixed both works "Rückkopplung" and "Nebenwirkung" and made the result out of it : "Nebenkopplung" and "Rückwirkung". I have the suspicion that it was a certain professer I knew, but actually I don't know.

And it sounds to me as if an observer had just written a comment towards it : "Yes, yes, very complex". <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/winkwink.gif" alt="" />

Both ("Rückwirkung and Nebenwirkung") contain the part "Wirkung", and that is somwething that is the result of something. Of you take a medicine, for example, the Wirkung is that your illness goes away. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/winkwink.gif" alt="" />

The "Rückwirkung" is translated in my dictionary as "re-action" or as "repercussion".

Both words are totally normal words in the German language, but "Nebenkopplung" is not. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/winkwink.gif" alt="" />

So the thing is just a mix-up of two words which I thought to be funny. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/winkwink.gif" alt="" />
I guess Germans understand it a bit better. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/winkwink.gif" alt="" />

Alrik.
