Except Raze and the members who have written zero post, all the other forum members are spammers. But a forum with only very serious posts would be boring.

Most Honourable President of the PIF:

While " spam " has been defined as "to post irrelevant or annoying messages" and "any large, annoying, quantity of output", I would humbly submit that in the "Chat" sections of this illustrious forum, we are all among the wide-eyed innocent. We have committed no such offence!

I draw your kind attention to the Oxford English Dictionary, which defines "chat" as [color:"orange"]chatter; idle or frivolous talk; prattle. We do this! We are guiltless of "spam", since we do but "chat"! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif" alt="" />

Indeed, if you read far enough into this delightful tome, you will even find that "chat" is [color:"orange"]"a small poor potato". Very well, the spelling of "potatoe" is quite mistaken, but we are generous souls and can forgive this slight error. Surely this is a fine indication that we are, indeed, on the side of the Angels?

Respectfully yours,
Rincewind

Yesterday i said that i will wait until today to answer to this topic because i had a lot of things to say.
But with the terrible news about Kyra Ny, i don't feel like writing posts or joking as usual.

Lews made the spelling mistake. He used to write potatoe with a "e".
And i thought he was right because english is his native language.
Later "The Potatoe" became very famous and it was too late to correct the spelling mistake.
"The Potatoe" of the Larian forum is unique and it would be indecent to write it now without the "e".
One day, you will discover that i am also an angel. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/ROFL.gif" alt="" />

Yes it is right, you have correctly understood.
But you did not give the name of the person you are talking about.
I guess it is Ubereil. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif" alt="" />

However i told you before to be careful with the words of the same family than "sucer" because they have a weird meaning. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/eek.gif" alt="" />

In that case you should have said :
C'est un fayot. C'est un lèche-botte. C'est un bouffon. Ou plus simplement, il essaie de se faire bien voir.

End of the french lesson.

Of course not ! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/eek.gif" alt="" />

Lews helps us to make the french section of the forum more active.
Lately he wrote this post :

Quote
Ahh, merci ! J'ai toujours beaucoup à apprendre !

No Mon école suce. Nous avons seulement espagnol (aucune infraction à Mexicain, les gens espagnols) et j'ai eu il et sait pendant 8 ans seulement. J'essaie d'apprendre dans mes loisirs\, et mes parents l'encouragent.

Cela pourrait être serviable, un livret. Je l'un ai pour l'Allemand et il aide, mais je vraiment n'utilise jamais l'allemand dans mon parler et les postes.

Right word now? <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shame.gif" alt="" />

Drealmer and me, we answered to Lews post explaining to him that he could not say "Mon école suce" in french.
I gave him more explanations in a PM and i clearly told him that these words are "bad".
Hopefully Ubereil can't understand the french language ! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shhh.gif" alt="" />

MeaCulpa gave me an explanation about brownie point, it is just like :
[color:"yellow"]if you are always saying; yes boss of course boss, and try to do your best to become the Boss's favourite employee.

Lews wanted to make a joke because i told him something equivalent in french.
At school if a student try to get the attention of the teacher for becoming his favourite student, in french "son chouchou", the other students say about him : he is a "suceur".
But it was an exemple. I told him it was a bad word and i never told him to use it ! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/disagree.gif" alt="" />
Lews wanted to show me that he had understood the meaning of the word, he was just joking.
Don't be mad at us !

I have no idea what you're talking about! And I STILL don't know what source is! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/silly.gif" alt="" />

In Sweden, we have a word for the extreme variant of this: smöra (verb). Smöra can allso be to put butter on something, most common is a sandwich, but in this case we're talking about a person. As I said I never really do this. I'm only being nice, and if this gives me extra points in some way, then I don't really mind. (I might try slightly harder with teachers, but it's nothing I aim at...)
Things can allso be smöriga (there is butter on it). Music for the most part. And this is rarely good (some Dire Straits songs are a bit smöriga, but that's only a bit, which can be good sometimes. If you whant a really good example when it's not good you should try Swedish dancebands. Or boybands.).
