Wow! This thread sure generated a lot of responses.
1. To all of those who sent me private messages or expressed their support of my position in this thread: I appreciate your remarks very much, and I thank you.
2. To those who have apologized for posting material of an offensive nature (even if you didn't realize it was offensive) I take your apologies as a mark of your maturity. There are some people in this world who make mistakes and apologize, but continue to make the same mistakes. I am sure that nobody here will repeat the same mistakes.
To Stone in particular, there have been several times when you posted remarks in this forum which I very much agreed with. And you have been here for a long time, I think. So don't worry about it, man, we are still friends.
3. Why I said that I would leave
This is a great chat forum. I always enjoy it.
I visit this forum less frequently than I used to. I am busy doing other things. When I do visit I don't read every thread. Like everybody else I click on the threads that I think will be interesting to me. In general I would say that I have a tendency to avoid threads which are very verbose, simply because I do not have the time to read it all. This makes the picture threads appealing, because they make for quick "reading." Now if the picture threads are going to be full of stuff that are offensive or obnoxious to me then why should I bother coming here? Obviously the problem is being taken care of, and so don't worry I'll stick around. I send a hearty thank you to all of those of you who have asked me to stay.
4. Regarding the posting of links to offensive sites
Some have expressed the opinion that the posting of a link to a site which is sexually explicit or which contains raunchy humor is acceptable on this forum. I question that. Imagine a thread entitled "Links to the best porn sites."
