Thre a some products to realize a LAN Wire with the in-house power circuit.
But i think a normal Wireless Lan is allways faster than a DSL Connection.
Wireless Lan can reach speeds up to 11 mb/second and more.
And (ok, i know it only about Germany) you can only have DSL Speed up to 3 mb/second.

So i think you dont get faster with moving in the internet, or downloading some stoff.
You only get faster in Ethernet connection betwen your Home PCs
