@ Cleg -> is there any weird sound coming from your SATA HD? can the motherboard BIOS detect that SATA HD?

yeah as what Draggy said, it might be a viral attack which may have broken windows enough that it won't boot. when it comes to XP, there are a few files which are totally crucial for windows to load.

if u have a spare PC, u can always port that SATA HD to that PC & do virus scan on it. let's hope it's just some software problem & not hardware.
