The problem is: newer versions use more memory or don't install a graphic interface like KDE, GNOME (this both need a lot memory to display a huge number of graphic gimmick) and use only the console, but this is geekish <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/winkwink.gif" alt="" />

If you have the chance to put memory into this system, then do it - 64 MB or 128 MB are better. I used a short time a similar system (Intel Pentium 133, 64 MB System Memory) with a Debian installed (only console).
