is it possible if let's say i install linux with console only in that system then i access it by remote then control it from there? also with GUI to control it by remote? is that possible?

Yes and no.
If you run a server system (like a file-, mail- or printserver, router, firewall, ...) than is the answer yes. For many server programs you can find control programs with a remote graphic system - most a web interface.
If you run a desktop system, where you use programs for playing, writing, web surfing, than is the answer more no than yes. I don't know exactly but so far as I know the remote system must produce all the graphic output which a transfered to the local computer and will only shown on the local computer. The local computer is more or less than only a monitor.

I would give DSL (Damn Small Linux) a chance - it is small and need only few system memory. There could be the problem, that your system doesn't start from a cd drive but then you can use a floppy disc to boot (insert first the floppy disc which start booting and accessed later the cd drive).
