suspicioushly sounds like a vertical hold (in the monitor) that went bye bye....

Do you have another computer / laptop to plug into it to just check????

The reason why you should check, is that it may very well be the graphics card aswell.... if the monitor works on another computer, then check that the graphics card is seated properly / not overheating. (it only takes 5 seconds for a card to overheat, so it CAN happen on boot-up)
