There's a giant unexplored area in the NE part of the wasteland map:

When watched with Wizard's Sight(? - the spell for mapping far terrain) it reveals an extensive maze of canyons.

How to get there, and what is there?

No way I know of (other than - maybe - throwing one of your pyramids). It may be an unused leftover from original game design.

Unfortunately the method doesn't work - a high cliff wall surrounds it, and the fact that it's at least half a screen wide doesn't help a thing. If I have time, I'll try savegame location hacking - it BUGS me too much ;D

It is possible to toss a pyramid up onto a mountain, though I did not try in the wastelands. For the easter egg area in the Dark Forest, it required a bit of playing around with the character location to find a spot that would work (see a way out, if you're Stuck in the Easter Egg Area).
