I added something. Humour...

I could answer something (or even more things) funny/insulting/irritating on that post.

But I'm not going to.

Please relax Seth.

My intention to go in the Forum (and there is no different between the german and the english part for me) is to have Fun.
And the hope to make other laughing too.

And i see no reason to change.

I'm always relaxed.
Ask any elder member here.

Fun is fun. But sometimes it gets to much.
Everything gets reduced to a joke.
Take the topics Alrik started fi.
Stuff to talk about.
But overnight they turn into a joke topic.
- I known Alrik a long time and I can hear him say that he doesn't mind. He's a great guy. But it's a missed oportunity.

You can't ignore the signs. Lots of elder members who leave or visit the forum every so often anymore. Without posting or just posting every couple of days/weeks/months.

I found a completely differend forum when I returned after my "break".
I can get along with it becouse I like a joke as much as the next guy. Again something everyone can confirm. But I miss something.
It feels like and looks like a bla bla bla forum. A blabberforum. It's starting to look like yahoo chat or something. Is everybody scared to debate and discus things? Or do we really have nothing to say anymore?

There is no room to talk anymore. We used to be able to talk about anything on this forum. And that seems to be gone.
In the German part you have fi the topic about Bush - Iran.
(I just picked one.) Can you point out one in the English section that even comes close?

I miss old freinds like Carrie, faile, MSlynx, Drakonis, ...
And it's sad that lots of elder members like Womble, Jurak, HEF, Rincewind, ... (and more, there are a lot more ) post less.
They're all bright people. It was good to exchange ideas, opinions, thoughts.

A discusion could be about the second world war. And the next topic was about some of the members buying a new car.
There was a time when ppl even anounced weddings. Or talked about things that been bothering them in personal life.
And everybody helped to come up with answers.
I don't say it has to be like that on the net. But it was great we had that there. How many other forums you can talk freely and other members supporting you without making evil jokes about you are there?
But I do understand that people say they miss the cosy thing. It used to be a home. An internet family so to speak.
And that's gone.

In the past few weeks I got pm's from people who only came to the forum for the help sections about
and . And people who looked through the forum becouse they have a copy of one of the games.
I got several pm's of people I never met to tell me they completely agreed on certain things I said on certain topics/things going on in the forum. Those pm's ware surprising. But it just tells me once again that there's something missing.

Fun isn't enough sometimes. There used to be freinds here.
All freinds! And it doesn't feel like that anymore.
It's just someplace to post some silly stuff now.
I do agree that the cosy, freindly feeling is gone.
I completely understand why people leave.

Just had to say that sooner or later.

Ok, but who stops you to post in the Kind you like?
And if you open a Thread, where you want to speak about more serious things, so you can allways remember to stay on topic if you want.
And do the others go on, so can Lynn ask for deleting the Post you dont want to have in this thread.

I see a other thing.
in every Topic, now or in the earlyer Topics, serious or not, sometimes the moment came and the Topic change to joking and off topic.

For your example with my Bush Iran Topic in the german Part of the Forum i can say that is easyer for me to speek serioulsy in German.
And if i look at my other Topics, The DVD`s Topic, and the Star Wars Topic, there is not so much spam.
And why, i look for them. And after some welcome Jokes i go back to Topic.

I go back to topic in my Threads.

That is Important.

It is to easy to say the others that everything is bad, start your Topics you need, and hold them Clean.

Look at the Topic counts in the different parts of the Forum.
in the German part, there are not so many topics as in the other, and we have the most Posting in Time.
Sure, there are some Spam Threads, and this is not bad. I like the way of joking in this kind.

But if i see a Topic where is full Off, why stay out of them?
I say only one thing.

If the elder Member like you miss something.
So it is better to ask what can you do to bring it back, and not to blame it of the other.
Or just leaving, leaving is the easyest thing.
Sure, it is not the nice thing we can do if we someone say "please stop spamming in this Thread" or if we must Lynn ask for deleting spam.
But, actually there are some rules in the Forum. And if you think there is something wrong, just change it.
But at last, is it not my task to hold the status quo in this forum.

And so i please you, stop the off Topic in this Thread.
This thread is for Illusions, not for talking about the Forum.
if you dont like the Illusion, thats Ok.
But there are some People here who enjoy it.

This is the best point in Stone's argument to me.

Seth, my friend, if you don't like it don't read it. Please stop posting these long rants because the only person ruining this topic is you.

And funny is a matter of personal opinion.
