Do you know if that was suppose to be him in the crystal ball?

@ Stone -> Have you ever seen the one called Relativity or Waterfall?
If so, what do you think of them? I like both of them, but I think I like Relativity better.

Yes, this was Escher in the Ball. Maurits Cornelis Escher (1898-1972) Relativity is really good. I Like it. Waterfall is still good too, but in the comparison to relativity, more simple.

Stone, thank you for all the great pictures by Escher. All of them are great and very fascinating.
I agree Waterfall is good even though it is simpler, but Realitivity is still one of my most favorites, maybe because it is more complicated. When you look at it there is something going in the right direction except when you turn the picture upside down. Or am I missing something?
I love the one of the hands drawing each other. That one is cool.
Even his non illusions were very, very good and he does a great self portrait of himself. I liked the idea he had of putting himself inside the crystal ball.
Search for M C Escher, OK I will do that. Thank you.

This is all soo beautiful!! ![[Linked Image]](http://www.my-smileys.de/smileys2/bouncymickey.gif) My husband is an artist too, if I have the chance I would post some of his drawings. But he is a little jalous that I like all these drawings soo much. Hihi, I like to tease him a little more with that . Any more pictures from famous or not so famous artists??

Shantara, you can also try search for "Metamophosis Escher". You can find some pics like this This is a kind of Pictures i like very much from Escher, i have a Book from him with all Paintings, and Studies and so. More Artist Paintings without Illusion? Why not, its hard to find new illusion, so we can look other interesting Paintings. But please, no funny Pics here (Exception funny Illusion )

I honestly consider to be Amy Lee as an illusion. Does it count ? The picture in my avatar is 100% real.

@ Death: I've seen her live, and to be honest, she can't sing...

Evanescence (in studio) is not the worst band arround. However when you look at the competition, you can clearly see that they did not stand a single chance against Lacuna Coil, Nightwish, After Forever, Within Temptation and other great bands with female leads. Of course I doubt many people who love Evanescence heard of any of the bands I just mentioned (except maybe Nightwish). I have not seen Amy Lee live but I am pretty sure that her voice is as fake as her image and is processed through a dozen of reverbs. If you want to listen to truly powerful female vocals, try Nightwish or Within Temptation. Unlike the annual flower of Evanescence, Nightwish exists for nearly nine years.

I think she is great. But to be fair, I haven't even heard of the bands that you mentioned.

Yes, you posted just as I edited my post.
I will go to the postoffice now and when I will come back I will try to find some samples for you to hear: if you like Evanescence chances are that you will like at least some of those bands.

Stone I really like that one to.
What is the name of the book with Escher's pictures in it? Do you know if it can still be purchased?
I like your idea of posting other good and interesting paintings. If we do though I think it would be good if we gave the name of the painting and who it was by if we know.
I also agree no funny pictures here unless it is a funny illusion. Why? because we already have a funny picture thread.

@ LadySarah: I don't whant to offend you, I hope you know that. But as DatDsais, her voice is a fake. When I saw her live she wasn't singing, she was panting. (Hope that's the right word btw.) Honestlly, I can sing that good in that tone, and that tone is about two or thee tones over what I can normally handle (since I'm a guy).
@ DatD: I havn't herad of any of those bands, expect Nightwish (aren't they finnish?) . I havn't heard them though, I've heard they should be good.
If you whant powerfull female singing (ok, I don't know if powerfull is the right word, but she's esxtrodinary anyway) you should try Björk. She's great.
If you whant powerfull (or more dramatic) male singing you should try Sisters of Mercy...
