Evanescence (in studio) is not the worst band arround. However when you look at the competition, you can clearly see that they did not stand a single chance against Lacuna Coil, Nightwish, After Forever, Within Temptation and other great bands with female leads. Of course I doubt many people who love Evanescence heard of any of the bands I just mentioned (except maybe Nightwish).
I have not seen Amy Lee live but I am pretty sure that her voice is as fake as her image and is processed through a dozen of reverbs.
If you want to listen to truly powerful female vocals, try Nightwish or Within Temptation. Unlike the annual flower of Evanescence, Nightwish exists for nearly nine years.
