No need to be specific, close is good enough. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

I would have never guessed that in a million years. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/winkwink.gif" alt="" />

I wonder what that means, Jang... <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif" alt="" />

In Sweden we have quite the opposite: Out of sight, out of thought.

Our Belgian expression is almost the same like yours Üb.
Out of sight, out of the heart. Hopefully that wont happen with Luc, Spick and now Viper!! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/disagree.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/disagree.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/disagree.gif" alt="" />

out of sight out of mind is a negative version of the saying i put in my previous post. the meaning for mine was that no matter how far u are, even when i cannot see u, u will always be near in my heart. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

Ube, of course i remember them. there's also mandrake, whom u have never met.

OK, I don't know who's turn it is here, right now.
But the following expression is not for guess anyway, because it's way too easy. But I really like how it is somewhat different in each language, so I thought It'd somehow fit in here.

In English it's
"All that is Gold does not glitter."

In German it's
"Nicht alles was glänzt, ist Gold." (Not all that glitters, is gold.)

And in French it's
"Tout ce qui brille, n'est pas d'or" (All that glitters, is not gold.)

So, does another variation of this exist somewhere else?

In Flemmish we say, "t'Is niet al goud wat blinkt"
And about the grass we say, "Het gras is altijd groener aan de overkant"
Both mean the same, it means that your neighbour can live in a big pretty house but that doesn't mean that he is happier than you are. (or something like that)
Can I do one now?
"You always find a stick to hit the dog" What does that mean?

If you want to find faults in someone/thing, it will be no problem. (Or something like that...)
