@ Stone: force can be used in that sense - as often in English, the same word can have several meanings, depending on context:
I am forced to do something - ich bin gezwungen etwas zu tun.
He is forcing me to do something - er zwingt mich...
He uses force - can be "Er verwendet Kraft" (synonym strength), but also "Er verwendet Zwang" (= coercion) and even "Er verwendet Gewalt"(= brutality; more common brute force, to be specific)
He has force - Er hat Stärke/Kraft

Though I am a German and should be flattered I disagree to the uniqueness.
Anyway - Your leaving out distorted the meaning, IMO
a better translation would maybe be "a constant reverence to the other"
