Larian Studios Forums Beyond Divinity (English) Help/Tips/Tricks Act I Battlefield Keys

I just started playing BD and I'm already stuck (*sigh). I have completed the game up to the tooth quest and got the first summoning doll. I then learned that one of the battlefield keys was up in a locked chest in the cell block level and is opened with the key that I found into spider hay stack. I tried to get back up to that level but there is no way to get there. So I started a completely new game. I have searched every square inch of the cell block and torture levels and I cant find any locked chest anywhere. There is a locked barrel by the kitchen but this key doesnt open it, and I dont know where THAT key is either. I know this is pretty lame, but can someone please tell me where that chest is supposed to be and if maybe my game is messed up.

This is the Mainentrance of the Prison.
You see the Chains? Behind the left Chain is the Chest hidden. Difficult to see, becouse there is a steamray too.

Danke Stone. I'm at work right now but will check this when I get home tonight. However, I am sure I looked there. I went to the Main Entrance and looked every where. I moved the cursor all over that area and there was no chest there. I will look again tonight and will let you know if I found it.

Believe me, i had the same problem.
And i found the Chest in my first Game, but in the Second?
I cant found it, so i ask like you now.

There are 2 level 1 BF keys in the first act, one in the starting cell block (partly hidden behind steam and hanging chains) and one you can't miss another couple levels past the pit level. Shortly after you find the second key, you will be able to get back to the first level again. If you don't need BF access right away, you can just keep going with your original game.

BTW, higher level BF keys will open everything up to their level. Even if you miss the level 1 keys entirely, the level 2 key would open the first 2 dungeons. Leaving the lower level dungeons too long may reduce the experience points you get for killing monsters, though (experience drops the higher your level is, until at 8 levels above your opponent you do not get any).

The locked barrel by the kitchen likely needs Lockpick to open (I don't recall a locked barrel there before that skill was fixed).

Thanks for all the help. I did go back and find the chest in the cell blocks, but I swear it wasnt there when I looked the first time...LOL. I also found the second key that you mentioned, which was a forehead smacker *DOH*. But now I have the keys and have completed the 1st battlefields dungeon. This is really an awesome game and very LARGE!! Lots of things to do and find. Thanks for all your help.
