There are actually 2 national holidays in Belgium. I'm flemmish, so we celebrate on the 11th of july, in Wallonie is a bit later I think, but I guess that all the Belgians here are Flemmish? The Flemmish symbol is a black lion on a yellow background. In Wallonie they have a black rooster on a red background. The only sad thing about our national symbol is that a certain extreme right political group uses that symbol for themselves. I used to hang my lionflag out on the 11th of july, but these last few years I don't dare anymore. People think I'm from that gruop to.
