Heroin was originally developed to cure morphine addiction (great thinking, guys!).
The Tjernobyl acident (who has a theoretical deathrate of over 100 000 pepole, most of them Sovjet militaries (who whas supposed to decontaminate the area. Without any protection at all...)) was due to an experiment, where they checked how much pressure the reactor could take. Among other things they turned the securitysystem off (Great thinking, guys!)...
