When you find a big kettle of crazy, it's best not to stir it.

You could fill nearly two ice cream pots with all the bacterias that live just in your bowels.

How? My bowels wouldn't even fill two icecream pots. But then, it depends on how big your icecream pots are.

That's just what I was thinking, HandE!

There are more people alive today than have ever died.
The human body is better suited to two four-hour sleep cycles than one eight-hour one.
A man's beard contains between 7000 and 15,000 hairs.
A beard grows an average of 140mm a year
A hair is 70 per cent easier to cut when soaked in warm water for two minutes
Women's hair is about half the diameter of men's hair
During an average lifetime, a man will spend 3,350 hours removing 8.4 meters of stubble

You're right, he didn't specify the ice cream bowl's size.

That was on a TV program about the medico-legal profession. It was during a demonstration of an autopsy; the teacher was saying a lot of facts like that to test the nerves of the students.

But think about that: when you "dismantle" a body, and place all the organs in separated containers, it's difficult to believe all this stuff could stand toghether in a such restricted space because everything is so compacted in the body... it's the same principle than the space took by the papers thrown in a basket vs the space took when they are folded or in a pile...

hm... something to put in a last will maybe?
I want to be folded or put in a pile rather than thrown in a basket? (or other way around for some people)

I was planning on taking a yoga course, so when I'm dead, they can just fold me into a tiny box. Much cheaper than a coffin!
I would fit, I'm pretty sure of that...

I will give you a tip: always carry with you a pen and a piece of paper; that way, when you see you're about to die, just let a note on you that explains the cause of your death. They won't need to do an autopsy on your corpse, so you'll can keep your organs well tighted inside your body!

Other death related facts now:

The first human funeral rites were practiced by the first groups of Homo sapiens. Archeologic finds have shown these men were folding the bodies in foetal positions and coloring them with ochre before intering them in pits.

Egyptians were the firsts to embalm their dead people. That practice was sprayed among other Antique nations like the Assyrians, Jewish, Persians and Scythes. Their methods were to take off the brain and organs, and to fill the body cavities with aromatic herbs and balsamic substances. Some cultures were also using salt, honey, wax, oils and spices. Alexandre le Grand was embalmed with honey and wax.

Egiptians were the experts of embalming: on mummies “unwrapped” 3000 years later, feets are often still flexible and elastic. Historians think that when they stopped to embalm people on a such way, around the VIIIth century, Egyptian had already buried 730 millions mummies. Although a lot were destructed or found, archeologists estimate there are still several millions of presrved mummies left to discover on unfound funeral sites.

After “somebody” dies, his organs die at different times. Brain cells only survive 5 minutes to the “sommatic death”; heart cells 15 minutes, and liver cells near 30 minutes.

The phrase "rule of thumb" is derived from and old English law which stated that you couldn't beat your wife with anything wider than your thumb.

If you keep a Goldfish in the dark room, it will eventually turn white.

Right handed people live, on average, nine years longer than left handed people do.

No word in the English language rhymes with month, orange, silver or purple.

Almonds are members of the peach family.

The world's youngest parents were 8 and 9 and lived in China in 1910.

A polar bear's skin is black. Its fur is not white, but actually clear.

Elvis had a twin brother named Garon, who died at birth, which is why Elvis' middle name was spelled Aron; in honor of his brother.

I can't even imagine an 8 and 9 year old being parents. Man, China must have
raised kids quickly back then.

Albatross can glide for up to six days in mid-air without beating it's wings.

North American brown bat can eat over 600 mosquitoes in one hour.

The female anglerfish is six times larger than her mate. The male anchors himself to the top of her head and stays there for the rest of his life. They literally become one. Their digestive and circulatory systems are merged. Except for two very large generative organs and a few fins, nothing remains of the male.

No, they didn't.
It's a result of no education, poverty, ....
All the bad things in life.
Population still is a big problem in China.
Now families are allowed to have one child.
So often in the provinces when the first born is a girl... It gets trown out (really)
and is left to die.
Becouse they need a boy to work on the fields and carry the family name.

Not true... or better, part true. It doesn't happen over night. You prolly won't live long enough to see it.

That is absolute horrible and the link Gal posted is enought to make you sick and
want to throw up.

OK, Seth here is one for you. This doesn't even seem possible to me. What do you
think? True or not?

Here are two more parent facts.

Mine worker Les Colley (1898-1998), from the town of Ararat in western Victoria,
made world headlines as the world's oldest father at age 93 yr. 10 mo., when his
son Oswald was born in July 1992. He died of pneumonia four months shy of his
100th birthday.

On November 7, 1996 Arceli Keh of Highland, CA made headlines by giving birth to
a daughter, Cynthia, at age 63 yr. 9 mo.
