And it spends most of its life in the trees; it only gets down of it once per week to relieve itself. On the groud, it's top speed is about 250 meters per hour, if nothing hurries it, it can go around at only 5 m/h. Sloths are quite blind and deaf, and their smell is just slightly better (good enough so they can smell some rotten branches, though not always; it is common enough that they fall from trees because of that). They sleep about 20 hours per day; some people who have put plastic plates filled with water on sloths'heads in the evening found them intact the next morning, still on the sloths' heads and alive with insects.
