Yes, yes, yes. Same goes for me. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

Plus somebody beats me to the post I was going to answer. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/disagree.gif" alt="" />

I think alot of us are having problems from time to time. But does it have to do
with the browser we use (I use Firefox), the network over all, or is it a problem at Larain with their network?

It's not Browser related, that's for shure. I have the same problems now on FF as I had in IE.

That makes me feel better Ubereil. I didn't think it could be Firefox related,
but who knows now days.

Firefox is the only browser I have used since I've been posting on Larian, so I
had no idea if others were having the same problem with different browsers.

OK, so we don't think browsers are the cause. That leaves network or Larian
network and servers. What could be the problem there?

If by funny things you mean the forums showing there are new unread posts, but when you enter there are no new posts, then it happened to me too. If not, then this did still happen to me. Now I'm going to bed. Farewell and Goodnight...

The forum shows a "new post" when someone has edited a post aswell. I noticed this again recently, when Lynn edited her first post on Starforce (she added the non-compliance with 64 bit OS currently) Something else i just noticed now (again - i had this a while ago, but thought it was just my connection at the time), i cannot make replies, or edits with more than one paragraph in it, then the site comes back with an error "Document contains no information" <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" /> either my computer has gone haywire or there is a ghost having fun here somewhere.

There still seems to be a problem.

While I was replying in a thread someone send me a pm.
And that same thread still shows as "unread" now.
Even with other threads marked as read above it. And even after rereading it a couple of times.
And ... I can't see that this has got anything to do with it, but it's wierd... It only seems to happen in the longer threads. The ones with already hundreds and hundreds of posts.

Hello! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wave.gif" alt="" />

Just had a small problem.
When I just loaded the list of forums page, I had a flashing enveloppe telling me I had recieved a PM, but when I clicked on it and got to my message list there was no new message at all. I tried using the back button (I use IExplorer), got to the point I had the flashing enveloppe again and clicked on it once more, in case, but it did only the same.

The ghost is striking again or it's an early April's Fool, maybe? <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif" alt="" />
Well if anyone PM'ed me some minutes ago, you know why I don't answer... <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/winkwink.gif" alt="" />

This seems to be the place where you whine abput the malfunctioning forum...

The refresh system stinks! When you log in, every post is marked as read, which is really annoying when trying to find out which posts you've not read!

i wonder if that is cache problem? i have problem with a computer in my lab when i logged in to the forum last week. i couldn't reply to posts as when i clicked the button to post my reply, it mentioned about me posting it already or something like that though that was my first.

i tried another system which is similar in specs & settings (not too sure about this, i have to check) & no problems occured. weird.

so far firefox is excellent in all that i do in the forum. i set my cache to 100MB & have it remember my username & password. no prob at all. since netscape 4.7 i had no prob with this forum. i wonder if IE has some inconsistency prob? especially when coupled with firewall? can anyone test that out if firewall can affect this?

it's rue what @übe sais,
when you open a forum like the chat forum
and you see like 10 topics that have new information.
you see 3 topics of them. you visit another webpage and come back to the forum, the other 7 non read topics display as read ones.

The same thing than Ubereil and the_bean happened to me too, sometimes. Not everytime, perhaps. Haven't notice anything that could be the cause of that happening yet.
*I still use IE
