Hello there, I had *exactly* the same problem! I don't know how much you did around the imp-village already, but you can try to teleport back to the jail-citadel section via hex-editing. I found

I rescued the second imp, they led me over the lava, but unfortunately the next cut-scene got stuck (I am not sure why, I assume because I have killed a monster that I shouldn't have already) so I had to start over again - but that does not necessarily have to happen to you! *crosses fingers*
