What are your DD² expectations?
Well I found one thing strange, there is no thread to asks what the players expect from DD². So post here your expectations of DD²
My expectations
Return of the green fields actless stucture good story huge interaction if it's not turnbased => 1 controlable character so it's more action packed if it's tunbased => a team with complex resistances and weapons skills usefull skills that have a real impact on the game

First of all great quests with a lot of subquests. And that we could solve all the quests in the order we like. Second an excellent storyline. Third great graphics. It's not really important because i am confident in the Larian artist team. Barta PS : I don't really care about the multiplayer part. It could be bad, it does not matter for me. on the voices my wishlist:
Maurice Lamarche ideal fot the evil voice. Frank Welker ideal for a lord ar a character with a high standing John DiMaggio ideal for townspeople and drunk people Billy West ideal for cranky old men and idiots. For the voices. No one of the Morbo's list. Only the voices that the Larian team will choose. And please don't change them later !

No that you mentioned multiplayer. Free multiplayer (not like MMORPG) For the voices. No one of the Morbo's list. they are prety good voices prolly expensive too. But they are voices everybody has hear once in his life. Just suggesting some voice actors that garantee a good voice. You can say what you want but the voices in animation shows are what make or break a show. so these have already proven they can pull of any voice. Maurice Lamarche know from Tripping the Rift (2004) - Gus Sabrina's Secret Life (2003) - Salem Saberhagen Gadget and the Gadgetinis (2003) - Lieutenant Gadget Futurama (1999) - Kif Kroker, Morbo, Walt, Raoul, Various Dilbert (1999) - Garbage Man/Bob the Dinosaur Pinky & the Brain (1998) - voice of The Brain Frank Welker Adventures of Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius (2002) - Goddard (voice) House of Mouse (2001) - Gus Goose, Louie The Mountain Lion, Figaro, Aracuan Bird, Salty The Seal, Dodger, Beagle Boys, Abu, Cri-Kee, Pegasus, Butch The Bulldog, Additional Voices Harvey Birdman: Attorney at Law (2000) - Avenger, Various Jackie Chan Adventures (2000) - Dai Gui/Tchang Zu [2001] Sonic Underground (1999) - Additional Voices Futurama (1999) - Nibbler, Various John DiMaggio American Dragon: Jake Long (2005) - Fu Dog Teen Titans (2003) - Brother Blood (Season 3) Reign (2003) - Philip II (1-4), Antipater (1-3) Jackie Chan Adventures (2000) - Hak Foo (Season 2+) Futurama (1999) - Bender Bending Rodriguez (Bending Unit 22), Various Kim Possible - Dr. Drakken - Kim Possible: So The Drama (2005) Teen Titans - Brother Blood - Titans East (2) (2005) Less Than Perfect - bartender - Claude's Romantic Hideaway (2004) The Batman - Rhino / Mugsy - The Big Dummy (2004) Billy West Detention (1999) - Emmitt Roswell Futurama (1999) - Philip J. @ Morbo
Please don't misunderstand me. I don't know the voices of your list. And i will not say that these people are bad. I just don't want that the fans say i want this voice or i don't want this one.
Only the people who are working on the game, are the ones who can make the best choice for the voices.
I liked the first DK's voice. It was the real choice of Larian. They changed this good voice for another one i did not like !
We can give some ideas or some suggestions to the Larian but we have nothing to ask them.

maybe what Larians can do is to include voice recording features into DD2 so during installation of the game, gamers have the option of reading some text which will be recorded & used in the game. would the gamers complain about their own bad voices?
as opposed to Morbo expectations; i am not hoping for turn-based (RTS gamer's big nightmare) as i hate that style of gameplay. i rather have choices though.
i would like DD2 to be (well, at least in single-player campaign) more non-violent; more stealth or investigative or negotiation or diplomacy. violence is taken only when necessary.
if DD2 is ever going to be party-based, i hope there will be interaction even among party members & not the minimal talk like what we have with Dennis. just like Star Wars: KOTOR, party members also have quests of their own (which means they have a place of their own in the game world).
emphasis on sound. i hope with the new game engine, Larians can make full use of the technology to make sound more meaningful in gameplay. in multi-channel audio mode, one can discern sound made by enemies not only from left & right but also front & back. i'm sure gamebryo supports EAX/EAX2.

Yes we all could live with less buggs.
@Janggut: I have no problem with stealth. But i was simply saying that they shouldn't do morrowind style where you walk for 30 min and then find an enemy. I'd love a good sneak that you can do and attack the enemy from behind. Personaly I also like the non turnbased action. And if it's in a team please let the characters you don't control (you can only control 1 but you can jump char) have a good AI. If a team member is near death he runs to the healer. who is protected by a knight.

Morbo: is it just a couincidence that all those acters have been in Futurama???
I would allso like more stealth, diplomacy and such. I would like a larger map. If party (which would be nice if not over used, but then again, I wouldn't whant it the KotOR way when you have nine partymembers but you can only use two...): make it lot's of interaction between members, and add lots of personality (think PS:T). And please add lot's of personality to other NPCs as well. And while we're at it: random stats on weponds piss me off. Change it, please. (A little random would be nice, but when a wepond is great in one game and stinky as hell the next time is a little annoying...). And add some other races. And background with pros and cons would allso be nice (like Arcanum. This adds personality to your main char. It could allso be fun with a simple-to-use editor where you can make your own quests (which you off chorse can share with your firends) and your own backgrounds (ok, the +1000 to all stats isn't very fun to play), which of chorse oly work in single player).
Long list this... And most of them suggestions...

In German cinema and TV almost everything is translated. So we don't see subtitles of foreign movies, but rather translated speech of special trained actors. In Sacred there are several voices of such actors who have been translating (speaking) internationally well known actors. It was huge fun, to have a Gladiator sounding like a well-known actor ! Return of the green fields PLEASE much lighter as in !!! It was much too dark, imho. The colour used in Sacred would be very good, imho.

This is my suggestions : * For the child's voices : Lews and Happyflower. * For the men's voices : Rincewind and Alrik. * For the women's voices : Lucretia and Galadriel. * For the monsters' voices : Marian and Shrimpo. * Eventually for Zandalor's voice : Cleglaw. All these people enjoy the Divinity Universe, i guess they could play better voices than professional actors. Barta

I could do a looser . Someone who has some kind of noob quest (DAMMIT! I lost my... dog in the forest, and I can't LIVE without him!), ahat grants experience in the beginning. And since we whant npc's with personality, I'm perfect! I was joking about Alrik's answer when i gave the names of forum members for playing the voices (Alrik forgive me pleeeease !). I think that great well known actors will not make a better job than unknown actors, professionnal or not professionnal, who really like the Larian games.
A great actor could be very good in one game and very bad in an other game. It also happens in the movies. Great actors can also play badly a character in a movie.

i don't mean to sound harsh but if the sound director (or someone who's responsible to record the voice actors/actresses) doesn't know what kind of voice or emotion or volume he/she wants in the actor/actress, that person is equally to blame because he/she doesn't know what is required for the game. nice enough doesn't cut it.
scriptwriters are also very imnportant to write good dialogues & not something very boring & unimaginative. in BD, towards later acts, voices for NPcs improve though some need more work. what i hate, really hate is forced accent. if u don't sound irish, then don't try it. if u are french, speak in your own natural tone. that way the dialogues have more honest sound to it & this helps in making the characters more believable. after all, Divinity universe has no known nationality that has uniform accent.

I expect from DD2: 1.A user-friendly SDK-Modkit. 2.Custom Portraits supported. 3.Gamebyro & Speedtree supported. 4.Multiple endings. 5.Multiple ways to solves quests -- good, evil, neutral options.

I very muchly agree with MysterD.... those are all things i would NEED in the game.
And yea... that autorun.... something so small that can make such a HUGE difference.
Other than that....
1. A Copy protection that doesn NOT need constant internet connections (PLEASE PLEASE NEVER use STEAM). Rather make an activation required if all the copy protections go the internet rout (a fear in the back of my mind says that they will by the time DD2 gets released).
2. Please let my Hero SPEAK FOR him/Herself!!!! (I have nothing against the DK's voice... but i like to make my OWN comments)
3. With the character selection, can we have as a subchoice of male, female, child and warior, survivor, mage, the good, neutral, evil AND some Insanely Synical / sarcastic option (the mad evil scientist or something like that..... or the alchmist that tasted his own stuff just once too often)... [color:"orange"] And yea, i think this would be a major highlight being able to play the hilarious mad alchemist that has this corrupted view of life. I also think that something like this would really be a selling point....[/color]
4. hmmmmmm that packmule we mentioned in some previous post?!?!?!?!?!? that makes it so much easier for us kleptomaniacs

what i "wanted" to need: - a list of set items, who give bonusses for partly/complete sets - a control of the hero: you could move him/her/it with a game controller! - a huge open world with no restrictions - nice grafics (not realy on top of my list) - a verry active game invirement. no static NPC's or animals. but a world that is moving along. like a natural disasters, fire (help out the firemen), our a flood..maybe a mysterieus disease again? lot's of celebrations, like you are invited to a mariage, or a festivity. -more beer games lot's of quest, biggies with a red line into (rode draad)

I agree with Tsel about the manual....
At the VERY LEAST include a full listing of what spells do what damage at what level... what can counter them, what level of resistance do you need to counter it.... etc... (SPells and skills in detail)
Also i assume there will be charms again (its kinda part of the divinity universe by now)... a full listing of what charms do what.... and exactly (in WYSIWYG format) how to charm an item.... i would also love to be able to take them out again..... (but thats my opinion - i didnt cry in DD, BD and nor will i in DD2 if i cant).
I think the manual should at least have those things covered in depth.... as well as special actions like setting a party member to agressive etc...
Lol MG, i AM allergic to microsoft's way of interrogation just for you to change something..... but if Larian insist on having neutrals go hostile on me, i would prefer some warning about it... even if they do it Microsoft style.

One thing I thought of is this: In the Divinity games you allways eventually pass the point when you don't really have to care for money. I think it would be much more challenging if tihs wasn't a fact. It's not really funny when you can buy whatever item you whant all the time. In contrast, random stock should be less random. If you find an item you whant and can't afford it, it shouldn't disapperar as soon as you leave the shop. Andthe random thing makes cheating too easy anywhay...

Please dont remove my only way of letting the kleptomaniac in me out..... i HAVE to loot.... and i HAVE to sell it
We had loads of fun discussing thieves, because in BD, if you die, you can still loot everything within your reach..... My DK was dead.... but with a closed chest next to it.... so i made him GET UP, LOCKPICK the chest, LOOT it, and then do the falling over with a deathcry routine again..... I also lockpicked a door close to me... at the time..... and everytime i got up to take something, my DK would do it, and then fall over again....
So someone (forgive me because my glass of sherry has forgotten your name *hic*), made the comment....
"You know you were a kleptomaniac if people are too scared to attend your funeral, because you may rob them from beyond"

I think they can just make looting a little less in D2... even if you battle for money a little.. thats part of the fun..... as long as i can still steal it

I just whanted to restrict your finds a little. Not remove the fun. Stealing should be a part of the game, of chorse (hope they add dynamite to the game ). But when you're level 20 and could survive the rest of the game without collectiong anymore loot, there's SOMETHING wrong...

Jurak That's why I loved to max out that pick pocket skill. Tsel

I always had 1 dealer (in DD at least) that i didnt like..... they always got the wrong side of my pickpocket hand so i didnt mind the lost reputation..... i was playing evil in anycase..... and i could always make the OTHER merchants love me to bits
But i agree... the money in BD is a little too much.... I know people complained... thats why they increased it.... but people complained to Blizzard too and they didnt change Diablo...... i think the best way around this is to also make this level sensitive..... if you are playing easy.... then make money readily available..... but on hard-core, you will have to plan carefully..... because your loot will be limited.

My main wish is for others. I hope Larian makes DD2 fully controllable via mouse point and click along with the Option of customized keyboard controls.
The reason why I ask this is because I know a couple of people that are handicapped and cannot play some of the RPG games out there.
Gothic and GothicII are two examples. Because of their handicap they cannot play these two games at all due to they being almost all keyboard controlled and they want to play them so bad, but they can’t. In fact they have an Extremely hard time even playing Morrowind due to all of its keyboard controls as well.
Please, do not discriminate against those that are handicapped and end up making DD2 primarily all keyboard driven controls.

they are prety good voices prolly expensive too. But they are voices everybody has hear once in his life. Just suggesting some voice actors that garantee a good voice. You can say what you want but the voices in animation shows are what make or break a show. so these have already proven they can pull of any voice.
Frank Welker Adventures of Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius (2002) - Goddard (voice) House of Mouse (2001) - Gus Goose, Louie The Mountain Lion, Figaro, Aracuan Bird, Salty The Seal, Dodger, Beagle Boys, Abu, Cri-Kee, Pegasus, Butch The Bulldog, Additional Voices Harvey Birdman: Attorney at Law (2000) - Avenger, Various Jackie Chan Adventures (2000) - Dai Gui/Tchang Zu [2001] Sonic Underground (1999) - Additional Voices Futurama (1999) - Nibbler, Various
That's all well and good, Morbo, but you let out Frank's most important contribution to popular culture! he is MEGATRON! eh... greetings from Wazzz, guys. PS. He is Soundwave, too.

Idd how could I have forgotten that one
he also voiced Rumble/Frenzy/Laserbeak/Wheelie/Junkion
On a side note, The talented voice actors are up in arms because no (voice) talented celeberty actors are stealing their gigs in pixar, dreamworks movies. That means prices go down.
Maybe larian can strike a bargain
@Wazzz: Welcome to the forum & Larian Feel free to release details on the future projects. I'm sure Lar won't mind

And going back to a previous comment that kleptomaniac i am one of those i have everything i see hehe and i think you should: -Be able to buy bigger backpacks -Be able to buy like a Dragon, Horse, Mule, etc. for transortation needs -A much bigger map with more towns for more fun with buying and stuff -Some realestate of some kind so you can acctually buy houses -And to top it all of maybe be able to buy pets??? (like ride a dragon, and have a babe dragon fight with you???) some thing like that it would be so so cool
I'm not carzy
