What are your DD² expectations?

Well I found one thing strange, there is no thread to asks what the players expect from DD². So post here your expectations of DD²

My expectations

Return of the green fields
actless stucture
good story
huge interaction
if it's not turnbased => 1 controlable character so it's more action packed
if it's tunbased => a team with complex resistances and weapons skills
usefull skills that have a real impact on the game

First of all great quests with a lot of subquests.
And that we could solve all the quests in the order we like.

Second an excellent storyline.

Third great graphics. It's not really important because i am confident in the Larian artist team.

Barta

PS : I don't really care about the multiplayer part. It could be bad, it does not matter for me.

For the voices. No one of the Morbo's list.
Only the voices that the Larian team will choose. And please don't change them later !

they are prety good voices prolly expensive too. But they are voices everybody has hear once in his life. Just suggesting some voice actors that garantee a good voice. You can say what you want but the voices in animation shows are what make or break a show. so these have already proven they can pull of any voice.

@ Morbo

Please don't misunderstand me.
I don't know the voices of your list.
And i will not say that these people are bad.
I just don't want that the fans say i want this voice or i don't want this one.

Only the people who are working on the game, are the ones who can make the best choice for the voices.

I liked the first DK's voice. It was the real choice of Larian.
They changed this good voice for another one i did not like !

We can give some ideas or some suggestions to the Larian but we have nothing to ask them.

maybe what Larians can do is to include voice recording features into DD2 so during installation of the game, gamers have the option of reading some text which will be recorded & used in the game. would the gamers complain about their own bad voices?

as opposed to Morbo expectations; i am not hoping for turn-based (RTS gamer's big nightmare) as i hate that style of gameplay. i rather have choices though.

i would like DD2 to be (well, at least in single-player campaign) more non-violent; more stealth or investigative or negotiation or diplomacy. violence is taken only when necessary.

if DD2 is ever going to be party-based, i hope there will be interaction even among party members & not the minimal talk like what we have with Dennis. just like Star Wars: KOTOR, party members also have quests of their own (which means they have a place of their own in the game world).

emphasis on sound. i hope with the new game engine, Larians can make full use of the technology to make sound more meaningful in gameplay. in multi-channel audio mode, one can discern sound made by enemies not only from left & right but also front & back. i'm sure gamebryo supports EAX/EAX2.

Not so many Bugs and, as a result of this, not so many Patchs.

No random in the Weapons and armours.

A good Map

I agree with stone, personally. I don't like the random weapons, I don't know if he means stats, because I do.

Yes we all could live with less buggs.

@Janggut: I have no problem with stealth. But i was simply saying that they shouldn't do morrowind style where you walk for 30 min and then find an enemy. I'd love a good sneak that you can do and attack the enemy from behind. Personaly I also like the non turnbased action. And if it's in a team please let the characters you don't control (you can only control 1 but you can jump char) have a good AI. If a team member is near death he runs to the healer. who is protected by a knight.

Morbo: is it just a couincidence that all those acters have been in Futurama???

I would allso like more stealth, diplomacy and such. I would like a larger map. If party (which would be nice if not over used, but then again, I wouldn't whant it the KotOR way when you have nine partymembers but you can only use two...): make it lot's of interaction between members, and add lots of personality (think PS:T). And please add lot's of personality to other NPCs as well. And while we're at it: random stats on weponds piss me off. Change it, please. (A little random would be nice, but when a wepond is great in one game and stinky as hell the next time is a little annoying...). And add some other races. And background with pros and cons would allso be nice (like Arcanum. This adds personality to your main char. It could allso be fun with a simple-to-use editor where you can make your own quests (which you off chorse can share with your firends) and your own backgrounds (ok, the +1000 to all stats isn't very fun to play), which of chorse oly work in single player).

Long list this... And most of them suggestions...

In German cinema and TV almost everything is translated. So we don't see subtitles of foreign movies, but rather translated speech of special trained actors.

In Sacred there are several voices of such actors who have been translating (speaking) internationally well known actors. It was huge fun, to have a Gladiator sounding like a well-known actor !

PLEASE much lighter as in !!! It was much too dark, imho.
The colour used in Sacred would be very good, imho.

Yep good idea for "Well Known People" for the voices.
This is my suggestions :

* For the child's voices : Lews and Happyflower.
* For the men's voices : Rincewind and Alrik.
* For the women's voices : Lucretia and Galadriel.
* For the monsters' voices : Marian and Shrimpo.
* Eventually for Zandalor's voice : Cleglaw.

All these people enjoy the Divinity Universe, i guess they could play better voices than professional actors.

And for the female big boss... the one all will be asking "how can we kill her" (even more than with Josy...

Are you a child ? No
Are you a man ? No
Are you a woman ? No
Are you a monster ? No
Are you Zandalor ? No
There is no "teenager" in the Larian games.
