I think this is insightful : Role playing clichés

Pretty good <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

I think though that Divnity doesnt play by all those rules.

Instead of humble/unknown beginings how about you have a couple of choices which are different from which class you have.

This doesnt effect what skills you take or anything like that.

Citizen's son: Your parents live in Rivellon and you start off there.
You start with basic gear but must come home every month or so..or your mum will worry. You get to do some chores around the house.

Wanderer: Typical newcomer with some gear and money, parents/relatives might meet you 5 times during the game maybe giving you a quest or so.

Orphan: Parents unknown but a homeless charity( Blakes house, situated next to his shop) took you in, so you must donate some of your money to the guild every month.
If you fail your rep goes down to -25..(or the level just under when the npc's will attack you)

Nobleman: Parents wealthy(live in Rivellon) and you get alot of money to start off..people offer you better prices.
But you must attend social occasions every week or so...if you fail..dad will kick you out of his house..like Sir Dante's son.

What bothers me is that if you keep stuff lying on the ground..people wont steal it..i mean come on!!

If you have the only key to your house/room/chest..fine but if you leave stuff lying around..be warned..the thieves guild arent called so for nothing.

Renaming stuff.

Now im in the wastelands..ive got loads of charmquality items.

Now i suggest that once you finish charming the item completely you get the option to rename that item.

I myself have got a metal belt with 5 charm slots and decided to add all vitailty charms...+500 to vitaily....i would have liked to rename the item...belt of immortality.

So if you had 4 charm quality items and added all stregnth you would (maybe) rename it the ring of hercules or something.

So what do you think?

Sounds good. I have a ring for instance with five heavy charms in it and it would be nice to name it something else than simply 'Sapphire Ring'.

what if you put in some unique charms into the game, with origional names? like "eye of the Beholder",or "moonstone"
and they give you no standard charm thingies but very special abbilities
like:
All enemies run 10% slower in your viccinity.(sp)
Does 10% more melee damage
gets you cheaper stuff wity some creatures
what i realy like, is speeds, i mean like the speed of walking/running
like in diablo2 you could run faster then other ennemies

I think, an "eye of an beholder" <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/winkwink.gif" alt="" /> could increase sight. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/winkwink.gif" alt="" />

The bean: Wow a unique charm...
We could extend it to..say the charm of nobility..like with the charm n your weapon/armour you gain a say 20 rep bonus or something.

Touching on the walk/run idea.

What if your speed depends on the amount of armour you wear?

So if you wear under say 400 lbs you can outrun all enemies.
If its between 400-650 your speed is slowed by 1/3.
If you wear over 650...your speed is cut by a further 1/3 and hence you cant outrun your enemies.

To make the idea more complex..the theives/assassins should be able to invest in a speed skill..i.e this will make you run faster(but not decrease recuperation time)

- At least two camera angles, I believe. First, one for overview (looking like a bird), second direct view (looking like a human). If races are allowed, then the angles should be considerable lower or higher (Dwarfs vs. Children of Raan).

Would that be easy to do?

The camera thing

Anyway im thinking..why on earth can you only eat 2 pieces of large meat at once.

I think that the more you invest in constitution the bigger appetite you have.

So a constitution of under 20 you can eat a piece of /friut/veggie/ But not a meat or dinner, bread or cheese

Your character will say that...i dont have room in my stomach for that.

20-40-----> dinner or 1 piece of cheese/bread..2 helpings of fruit.

41-60----> 1 piece of meat/dinner..4 helpings friut/veg or 2 cheese/bread

61-80----> 2 pieces of meat/dinner..8 fruit/veg or 4 bread/cheese(double each time)

81-100---> 1 pork....

and so on.

how the hell can someone eat a whole porc?
that sound ridicalus (sp)
why not this thing.
it would be revolutionair i tell you!
you hero can gain weight!
by eating to mutch food he becomes eventual soo fat that he/she gets slower,
his/her appearance gets bigger
armor doesn't fit anymore (evil if you're a she <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/badsmile2.gif" alt="" />)
you can loose weight by practising, killing evil thingies.
theire is a "gymm" for more aggility.
heck in some citys there is even a dietist!

what do you think <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif" alt="" />

Lol@ the bean.

Your right..no one can eat a whole pork..yet its in <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/div.gif" alt="" />

Say you can buy a carving knife and use it on a dead animal and get some meat out of it.
