I want *exactly* the same stamina-draining halberd again ! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif" alt="" />

Why ? Because of the learning effect.
"I haven't got any stamina any more.
Wasn't there a certain halberd in <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/div.gif" alt="" /> ? <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/think.gif" alt="" /> " )

Yeah but I would add a hint in the load screen.

When you stamina drains maybe you should take a look in your inventory.

Per definition, RPGs are meant to privide the player - I mean the character <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif" alt="" /> - with more & more more powerful items, armor and weapons.

Not with less powerful. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif" alt="" />

I believe it says a LOT about people don't imagine that a weapon might actually carry a curse; but instead they are ONLY able to believe that EVERY item they find is more powerful than the previous one. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/badsmile2.gif" alt="" />

Why limit it to the rock...

How about the sword of the wizard's mind.

Where when you pick it up you lose control of your character for 30 seconds, gain control for 20 seconds and so forth. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/ROFL.gif" alt="" />

I.e you could walk east, north cast spells/use skills(not harmful) but you get the idea.

Necklace of the hearing - your hearing is increased so much you hear all sorts of gossip... god for theives <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif" alt="" />

Larian get the idea... <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

You could hear the Grass grow, then <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif" alt="" /> (It's an infamous saying here about extremely curious people <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif" alt="" /> )

Great quote from Richard Garriot in an interview :

Quote
GB: The fourth Ultima is considered one of the finest in the series because it was the first to feature the now-famous virtue system. Where did this idea originate from and how did it influence the remaining Ultima titles for years to come?

Richard: When I was creating Ultima IV, I was worried that it would be a flop. I labored over the virtues to the degree that I felt no one would understand or appreciate. It grew out of a response to the flak RPG’s get by religious extremists who decry RPGs as “the devils work.” I had noticed that most RPGs have the same boring, morally ambiguous plot: “You are supposed to be the hero. Go kill the bad guy,” but most players pillage and plunder in order to gain the power required to kill the “bad guy” who has done nothing active in the game but wait for you to come kill him. Players are, in fact, usually the “evil” force. So I decided to make a game that tested IF you really were a good or evil character. Most players began playing in their old ways until they realized they were going downhill due to their behavior and quickly responded, happily amazed at the hidden tests that affected their gameplay.

Alrik: Why not!!!!

I have a realy complex/unfinished idea here...

Say As you have an assassin where you have to wear a dark cloth which obstructs your vision or blinds you.
Same armour etc as normal headgear but instead of seeing monsters and players as you would normally you just see say round white spheres..or orbs.

The bigger the orbs the more powerful the creature.

Lol..ok now im stuck..i am going to think of a continuaton of this idea...any one else is welcome to continue.

They usually leave some room in front of the eyes.

would it not be cool if you met some hero's?
i lways likes that knight that helped you in the forest in divinity.
or they were transported from another dimension, hero's like thor, or hercules (greek), or the grim reaper etc.

Yeah I always like it when that happens. Like when you meet Drizzt and others again in Baldur's Gate II. Or when you hear people in Cyrodiil talk about places and events in Morrowind.

Nice posts people.

Maybe you become a pshyic vampire. With a particular tool you siphon off health/mana/improve strength...when the orb reaches a partiucalr stage you must stop or the npc will collapse..thus people hanging around will think you are the cause of the problem.

Another way of not using health/mana potions.

Well if you can steal items why not try and siphon off health/mana?

Indeed maybe you have some spells or scrolls which are lets say unique but dont relate to any particular quest...you can use them at random.

These can usualy be found in a mages tomb or after killing a particular powerful monster.

You've got Life Leech in Divine Divinity. Isn't that the kind of you're talking about?
(Life Leech: drain life from opponent, you gain the life leeched this way.)
