I don't know if I'll read them, but I'm glad they are there.

The question is not, Can they reason? nor, Can they talk? but, Can they suffer?

Another source: Project Gutenberg, which has been around for over 30 years. Their selection can be browsed here: Project Gutenberg catalogue by author, title, or language.

All books are in plain text (usually either ascii or unicode for maximum versatility), and can be downloaded in regular or compressed files. You can also read online, bookmarking your place when you're through for the session.

another one: eserver

it seems to be a bit politically oriented (marxist leninist i think), but there are some quite rare texts to download there.

Wow! these are great. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

I love some of these books and to think now I can read/reread them without having
to try to get them from the library. I had no idea there were so many books to be
found online. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

Thanks so much for the info. I for one will definitely make use of the links. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

Does anyone know where can I access (if I can, I personally doubt it) the works "About Nature" of the Presocratics? In Romania there are only two or three libraries containing passages of these great books... <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shame.gif" alt="" /> Anyway, at least I found some Carlyle ("Heroes") and some Keisinger. Not bad... <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif" alt="" />

Epicurean Philosophy Online has a few etexts at Epicurus.info... mostly selections in English translation.

The University of Adelaide has links to etexts, listed here chronologically. Other resouces are linked through the menus at the left of the page.
