Which character is in the lead will not make any difference with found or dropped loot.
You need enough strength to equip weapons and armour, but after that agility is probably more important (especially if you are using Sharpen on your weapons). As long as you can not be killed in a couple hits by a strong opponent, Constitution can be neglected in favour of using more healing potions or spells.
