So now im wondering if i install the latest patch (where can i find it btw) will that ruine some things in the game?

(I realy dont want to start all over)

What Version have your Game now?

This is what Larian write to this

Quote
Please read the following carefully: If you apply the updated patch and load savegames made prior to v1.33 you will encounter no more problems.

If you had loaded savegames made with v1.33 after starting a new game with v1.33 you will also not encounter any problems.

If you have made a savegame in versions before v1.33, then loaded that savegame in v1.33 and saved in v1.33, that savegame is potentially corrupt. The best thing is to revert to one of the savegames made earlier with v1.32 or before.

Yes, this is the newest Patch.
But there was an older, and the question is.
Do you have allready the first Patch, and need now only the newest?
If it like this you dont have problems.
But if you playing with an older Version, your Savegames will not work with the newest Version.

Edit
You have an older version like 1.0033, so your Savegames will not work if you install a patch.

But i think it is better to install the patch and start a new game.
With your Version it is in a high grade possible that you run in a Bug, which is not able to repair.

Sorry, but do you read what i´m writting?

I see that you have the Version 1.0029, and edit my last Post.
If you install the newest Patch, your Savegames will not work any longer.

Yes, this it is what we can call trouble.

But, i think it is better to install and restart the Game.

Sorry, these Bugs are different, and many. And i playd the german Version, and i don´t know about possible differents with the Bugs in different Versions. The best Tip i can give you, is, install the Patch and restart. Sorry

Sorry Stone, if I read your quoting correct (inside your 2nd post) and I understand it then is there no problem if you played with a version prior 1.33 and install the patch and continue your play with the savegame prior the 1.33 version. You encounter only problems if you saved a prior savegame in 1.33, patched to 1.34 and then continue with your savegame from version 1.33.

There will be no problems installing the patch and continuing with the existing game.

The first German patch made changes that required the game to be started over, but those updates were incorporated into the English version before it was released, so none of the English patches are incompatible with earlier saved games. Some of the story fixes and changes are not retroactive, so will not be applied to your current game, but the technical fixes, additional quicksave, etc will work with current saves. As an example, if you start a new game after installing the patch, a particular NPC in Verdistis with a quest for you to steal a very handy item will take back the item to complete the quest and then sell it to you; in a game started before installing the patch, you need to just keep the item, since he will not sell it back to you if you complete the quest.

There was a potential problem in the 1.33 patch that could reset the world / fog-of-war in games saved in an earlier version. If someone ran into this bug and saved the game after that, the 1.34 patch would not fix it, thus the recommendation not to use earlier saves that were re-saved under 1.33.

I think the only serious problem without a fix or workaround is caused by tossing a teleporter stone into the castle without getting an invitation, talking to Janus and accepting a quest.
The Marcus-Tingalf-Trevor-Quest is a little elaborate, and can be partially broken by doing things in too unexpected an order. Checking the quest log for additional information as you progress should help avoid that.
There is a more detailed list below, but if you want to avoid spoilers there is nothing you really need to avoid doing (besides entering the castle early) that doesn't have a fix or workaround if you happen to run into a problem.

I started with version 1.29, updated to 1.32 and then 1.33 and then 1.34, without encountering problems due to any of the patches.

maybe if you move your zipped savegame folder somewhere else while you update with the patch ....it may not happen to you!
This is one thing i didn't do.... <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/stupid.gif" alt="" />

Actually if your only in the farmlands...
it would be better if you applied the latest patch and
start a fresh game over again....
you don't want to get near the end, and find out you should have patched a long time ago....or do you?
It would not take that long to get back where you are right now,
and with a freshly patched game, you wouldn't have to worry about things buggering up later on...
which would be more frustrating.....now,.... <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/think.gif" alt="" /> or later? <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/stupid.gif" alt="" />
