Hm, I also daresay that translating the jokes isn't always easy ... I mean, sometimes it's very subly, sometimes just fun, but I'd always need the right words to translate everything ...

That can be especially difficult with any sorts of slang ... <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/winkwink.gif" alt="" />

Okay, I think I'll try a chat we recently had.

In this thread Stone complained about the now with 1.47 locked barrells in the dungeons and battlefields.

He insisted on smashing them was "a nice alternative". <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif" alt="" />

That promted fenwulf in replying that this was "typical Barbarian : rather beating and smashing than instead looking for a more subtle solution". <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/winkwink.gif" alt="" />

Stone replied that this was typical Magician : Rather teasing a Barbarian than instead taking care of his own health ... <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/winkwink.gif" alt="" />

Palahn jumped in with (using a reworked German saying) : "Why going into the far [world] when the good thing "a sword" lies near ?"

Alrik jumped in and replied that this was typical Magician AND Barbarian : Not inventing the idea to take the WHOLE barrel ... <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif" alt="" />

Palahn couldn't resist replying that this was typical Alrik :

Guard 1 : Do you heard that ?
Guard 2 : What ?
Alrik : Thunderrollnoise
Guard 2 : Yes, now I hear it, too. What is it ?
Guard 1 : Be careful ! This is Alrik. In the last dungeon he took all 255 barrels with him and tries now to smuggle them into the villge without being detected.
Alrik : Singrollnoisewhistlesmashcrackknirsch
Guard 1 : You'd better listen to me. Do as if you had seen nothin' . Otherwise we'll get only trouble and paper work.
Guard 2 : Okay, if you think so. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif" alt="" />

Alrik then replied to that scene with that meybe he should rather train a woodpecker to let the opening work be done by him.

Guard 1 : What's knocking over there ?
Guard 2 : That's Alrik, he brought with him a woodpecker to get a barrell opened 'unnoticed' .

After a <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif" alt="" /> by Palahn, fenwulf replied that his elven blades wouldn't lies, but that instead they were "lying on him" (another way to mean "carrying" or "wearing").

Palahn was wondering whether fenwulf was really carrying them (the blades) ON him, and insisted that this was at least better than carrying them IN (inside) f him, but would still look funny.
Palahn also said that he was always carrying his blades WITH him. :P

That's the chat we had there. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/winkwink.gif" alt="" />

When you find a big kettle of crazy, it's best not to stir it.
