"Der Schuh des Manitu" is an infamous, incredibbly stupid-funny movie that is quite well known here. I never sw it, because I don't like these stupid-funny movies.

We say here in Germany that "Manitu" is a kind of sacred spirit, the one uniting spirit of north-american "indians". We say so, but I'm not sure whether this is actually right. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/winkwink.gif" alt="" />

So the movies sound "the shoe of Manitu". And I don't have a clue what it's all about. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" />

I have see "Der Schuh des Manitu" and can only say ... just great and really funny. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/ROFL.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/up.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/ROFL.gif" alt="" />

And this Movie is not stupid like "Erkan und Steffan" Alrik. He is much better, ask Pierre Price he love it <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/evilgrin1.gif" alt="" />

The next movie from Bully Herbig "Traumschiff Surprise: Periode eins" is not so good. But, if i see other german movies, still good enough or a good funny movie.

Yes, and let's just say the good ole doctor's experiments
were a bit kinky. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/winkwink.gif" alt="" />

(in this instance Kinky = Sexually Deviant)

The germans are vampires they sleep during the day and they spam during the night.

Well, Tsel - I've seen it too.
Any specific question in relation to it?

I saw it and I wondered if it was a good movie to rent or not.
It looked pretty funny to me, but I wasn't sure.

"Der Schuh des Manitu" is something like a parody of the German Karl May movies from the sixties. Karl May was a well-known German novelist, those movies were based on his books. If you don't know the movies, you might be asking youself what "Der Schuh des Manitu" is all about.

And you shouldn't be expecting any sophisticated kind of humour. To quote a friend, "you'll have a blast watching it when you're drunk."

Yes, this is a fairly good description.

Indeed difficult to judge, Tsel.

As Lurker said, it's a parody on a series of films based on books by Karl May written in the late 19th century, which were at a time up to the sixties very popular juvenile literature.

The parody part will be lost to you - as to the rest, renting it may be worth a try. But do not expect an intellectual challenge <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/winkwink.gif" alt="" />

Did you guys know that Karl May never been to USA?
And that almost no one knows of his German roots.
Almost the whole world thinks he's American. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />
