Tomorrow we go see Mont-St. Michael, Ube. Hummmmm, wonder if Gal would be up for that. After that where would you like to go? You mentioned making a few stops on our way to Paris, so what is to be our next stop or is there something else you want to see in Normandy before we leave? Sleep well, Ube. I'm going to wake you up early. Ooooooo, I'm hungry. Wish I had another one of those delicious sandwiches. Shan

About the trip, it's hard to believe you acually traveled under the English canal. It was more like a long elevator trip, you drove into the tunnel, then you did nothing for 30 minutes, and then you were in France.
Those shure were some nice Tapestries. But I doubt Harold prayed, if I'm not wrong he was a viking and believed in the old nordic gods. But I could be wrong. Think it was him who lost the battle of Hastings btw (I've been in Hastings. There was a nice tunnel with a simillar wallpainting, describeing the battle).
Nice castle...
And when we're in France we'll HAVE to eat some french food. Someone who knows about these kinds of things should help us out...
I wonder what city we're in, since I believe Normandie is a region...

Tomorrow we go see Mont-St. Michael Another place you might run in to me. That is... Something from one of my past lives. How much do you know about the legend? No one will ever discover all the secrets. They lay hidden in history forever.

I think I'll dig for you into Tombelaine, then. 'Chine' is a local word and now used only in the Isle of Wight and Dorset. It is of Saxon origin and means a deep narrow ravine, formed by water cutting through soft sandstone leading to the sea. We say in Germany for about the same thing "Klamm". But I only know it for small rivers making such "ravines". It's no castle. It's a church. Well, more or less. The top thing is actually the church (or kathedral ?) Mont St. Michel, and there are small houses around it, the streets are flooded with tourists. Well at least they were back in 1986. When I was there. The whole mountain is said to contain enormous long catacombs and tunnels, so many that you might get lost for some days ! This had always fascinated me, but I don't remember that they were showing them there ... By the way, Mike Oldfield made a song about it.

Hey guys!
What's happening with you? It's been a long time since you gave news from your trip! Hey, you're in France! A lot to see and do in France, it seems... Maybe you're just too busy to think about giving some news? Or perhaps you went too heavy on on the wine while visiting wonderful "vignobles"? *LaFille thinks about Jurak and Gal's thirst *
Quebeckers travel a lot to France, you know. Visiting our Mother country and meet our "Cousins du vrai monde"; laughing a little at them, by the way... Salut, cousins! Bise-bise
Seriously, although you can't get bored in France, here are a few suggestions of things you could visit: the old castles and churches, beautiful ruins, the tour of the region of Cognac (lots of families make you taste to their local home cognac; you'll become cognac experts ); in Paris, the museums (Beautiful Louvres), le château de Versailles , of course, all those things to eat and drink and see; the shows, bistros, cabarets, old streets and buildings, shopping... You just can't get bored.
Give us some news back!
I wish you all a good time, and hope you enjoy your trip.

LaFille, you seem to know your way in France, join us. Later. For the moment Gal is afk (she's got viruses, the poor sod), Shan is afk (she's spending time with her grandchildren (or was it children?) since it's easter), so no one who keeps this thread going is here, so it's pretty dead for the moment. When pepole get back we were planning on contiue it, and please join us then. As said, you seem to know your way in France .

Hey guys!! You will never believe where I was. Does anyone remember ![[Linked Image]](http://www.simegen.com/writers/nessie/culzean.jpg) ? Well, as I was looking in every room of the castle I fell into a weird looking shutter. I fell and I fell, it seems like it would never end. Man, I was scared!! Suddenly the ride finished and I fell on something very hard. It was all dark and I heard a spooky sound coming from afar. I got up and looked for my lightsticks, you know, the ones you got with the Pringles? Lucky for me, I kept those things. I saw light coming from a few steps away from me, and I started to walk towards the light. I felt something like a door or a window and I pushed against it. The door opened very difficult but it opened and as I went inside the room, the door closed with a hard "bang". The room was slightly illuminated so I still had to use my glowing stick. Suddenly the lights wen on and I could see where I was. It was a mirror room. All the walls, the floor and the ceiling were covered with big mirrors. The floor was moving in circles and so was I. It was very scary to see that I was moving along with the floor and there was no door in sight. But where was my way out?? The door I entered looked like every inch on the rest of the walls. Where was the door? After days of searching, I found my way out and discovered you guys had moved on to France. Now I'm gonna rest a while, take a long hot shower and eat and drink something and then I will catch up with you in France. Where should I catch up with you??

Bonjour to you all!
Catching the plane in Montreal soon, and should arrive in Paris this evening. Yeah, I'm leaving the dirt of the melting snow, the rain, the slush, the cold and the greyish time to join with you in the France tour. You could join me in Paris, and then we'll decide what we want to see and do for the next days. Perhaps somebody could think about a nice little bistro near where we'll sleep, in order to get together, have something to eat/drink and relax a bit before starting to visit the homeland of my ancestors?
See you in a few hours, friends! À bientôt! LaFille

Btw, Shan I liked the Mont St.Michel very much! It was always a dream of me to see the MSM. Here is some info on Mount St. Michael. Lucky for me, I had my good shoes on, since you can't drive a car there. But I wished I had a better donkey though, it was kinda stubbern...

Well, well, well, here I am... finally. Que d'aventures pour moi, mes amis! Was a pain to reach you... First, after surviving to the course from home to the airport without scrapping the car completely (potholes; a Quebec's spring benediction), I succesfully caught my plane. And arrived to France near the expected time! Then I tracked down my luggages and decided to rent one of those funny minuscule european cars to join you. So I did, and got on my way; but everyone I was coming across was acting strangely towards me. "They never saw a girl with green skin, or what?" I though. But then I realised that I was still driving on the right lane. I quickly corrected my mistake, as discreetly as it was possible (didn't get caught, fortunately). And I got lost a couple of times on my way, too. I think it would have been better if even if it was Jurak that would have been there to drive. Now, I am with you to the Champs Élysées, at last. While we're there, we'll have to take a few minutes for the classical tourist photo of us in front of the Arc de Triomphe ! @Lady Sarah To be understood, you only have to speak very fast in english with a big russian accent, and add "Putain!" in every sentence you say. Like that, French people won't even notice you're a foreigner. Seriously, ladies room is toilette des dames in french. Glad to be finally there with you all!

I think when you say that word, you will get a bucket of water over your head. I'm soo glad I found you guys back!! Lady Sarah, I've should've known, you would be at the top of the Eiffeltower. You have made some nice pics, but I bet you didn't take one from the top. Well Übereill, do you agree to meet up at a nice French Bistro? I'm in the mood for "Du pain, du vin et du Boursin" (French bread, wine and Boursin, some herbal cheese, very creamy and yummie!!)

Hey, what are you guys doing still in Paris? I thought this was a trip around the world.
Gal, since I have been gone and you guys are still in Paris, don't you think it is about time we meet up somewhere else? Yeah, yeah, I know Paris is a fun town but two long in one spot will never get us around the world. Uh, if I remember correctly someone told me that a while back. And I won't mention any names, but I think her name started with a G.
So where are you guys off to now? I will meet you there. Hmmmmmmm, hope she picks some place good.
Ube, have you been keeping an eye on this group for me? I hope they didn't give you to much trouble.
LaFille, are you coming with us or are you staying longer in Paris visiting your relatives? If you're coming with us, you had better get your things packed by tomorrow. Gal is suppose to have our itinerary by tonight and you guys are suppose to be leaving bright and early in the morning to meet me at the next stop.
Lady Sarah are you interested in coming along or are you enjoying the Eifel Tower to much? Love that new camper of yours. Do you think we could all fit in it for some road tours? We might even let you drive if you can follow a map better than Jurak.
Hey, by the way has anyone seen him around? Ah, come on guys, you didn't let him sneak off to the pubs did you?
email to Alrik -> Hey, Alrik, come on you've spent enough time on the Isle of Wight. Meet us at the next stop. You can be our Jouranalist and write our story for all the people back home.
And anybody else who wants to take a chance on having some fun, come on and join us. We don't bite, you know. Well, at least not hard.
Remember bright and early, Gal. No sleeping in.
