I never been proud of the artificial nation Belgium. Belgium as a nation/state. It doesn't feel like a motherland, I don't feel connected at all. Belgium only exists becouse a couple 1000 politicians don't wanna loose their jobs and therefore they use a royal family that give me the creeps. Belgium as a nation, as a political state is nothing to be proud of. The most politically and economicly corrupted country... with politicians that let it become one of the most poluted countries and that let the heritage go to waste. Unless they benefit from it personally. More (bigger or minor) scandals every day then in any other western country. The thing what makes it a great place are the people and that they keep going through all that and even succeed in making it a good place to live in. Although... on the other hand, I often think that they must be incredibly stupid to always get lied to and pushed around like that without reacting. When I lived in Italy or when I was spending most of my time in other countries I didn't miss Belgium at all.
