Very well said, Jags. This could be bad you know. You are starting to sound like
me. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> But what you said is so true. None of us are perfect, and can any of us
say that we have never told a lie in our entire life. Not me. I have told some,
and like you I will probably find myself at some point doing it again. Why?
because I am just human and humans make mistakes. And no matter how hard we try
not to we are going to make mistakes.

If a person is not sorry for it, how can i forgive? You forgive because in your
heart you know that somewhere within that person there is some good and you
want to draw on that good instead of letting the bad in a person eat you alive.
We all need to learn to be more forgiving of each others' faults. Isn't that
what friendship is all about being there for one another through the good times
and the bad times and forgiving each other when things go wrong. I for one want
to learn to be a loving, caring and forgiving person no matter what is done to
me. So yes even if a person is not sorry for what they have done, I will forgive
and I will not turn my back on them.

Of course there are things I don't tell. Things that aren't interesting or which I feel ashamed about.
Would it be of interest to you that I fart when I eat too many beans ? Or that I'm almost deaf on one ear ? I don't think so.

What you see of me is so far the complete part of my self that i don't necessarily present features I don't think are neccessary. I'm not sick (mentally), so I can reassure you that I'm totally normal - apart from my tendency towards depression. And physically I'm also not sick - apart from my ear.

So, I don't think you'll need to know every detail about me; especialy not about my relatives.

I don't think I should present everything, because there are still parts of life that are private life.

Hey, <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> I was not saying since this is an RPG forum to role play on others. That was an analogy to bring across a point.
I was only saying that I’d rather look to the good someone has brought into my life then focus on the bad and I’d rather find out why they felt they had to lie to me rather than burn them at the stake.
Of course there are always exceptions to this case, come on people lets get real here, and not split hairs.

In my case, all anyone ever had to do to know more about me is simply PM me and I’ll answer almost any question you ask, but like Alrik there are certain things I just won’t talk about; just as there are things I’m sure you’d never talk about if asked.

My main point in my very first post was to get people off of their high horses.
No one and I mean no one can never in any way shape or form, say they have never lied or lie.
I am NOT talking about here at Larian specifically. I am talking about in general.
I am NOT defending lying.
I am pointing out the facts that...are we so innocent that no one can write our sins in the sand?

I have met and made some, what I feel to be, good friends here.
To me, if they are pretending to be someone else, I don’t care and if I found out they were pretending I still wouldn’t care.
They have been a friend to me when I needed a friend and to me that is all that matters.

I realize many others feel differently and I am not condoning lying.

My point is this, if you suspect something, then PM them and MAYBE you might find the answers you seek. True they may or may not be lying to you still, but here on the forum basically all you have is faith to go by since in 99% of the cases you’ll never meet them.

@ Alrik -> I like what you said, and the way you said it. I agree. Everyone
deserves some privacy in their lives and I can respect that. I also agree that
why should I be required to tell every little useless detail about myself just
to please everybody. How does it help them to know that I love doing things
with my girls. People either accept me for me and not for what I love doing with
my girls, or they reject me. It is their choice and I have no control over that.
I should not have to tell things about my private life to get people to accept me
as a friend or to decide whether I am lying or not.

wave length. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif" alt="" /> We are all individuals with our own beliefs, likes, dislikes,
etc, and this is the way it should be. And I like your dutch saying, besides
what good would it do to argue about tastes. It isn't going to change things. It
doesn't change our tastes. Sometimes it just comes down to hurt. Why not respect
each other as being different and learn to accept them as the person they are.
I know I am happier with finding the good and sharing that with a person than
dwelling on his/her bad points.

Hello!

It's a bit late for me to jump on the topic but I do it anyway since it is a very, very interesting subject and that we're all touched/part by/of this phenomenon.

Although each case is unique, I agree with Shantara, Alrik, Janggut and Tsel's point of view about it.
If someone needs to lie about itself, this person only deserves pity. As to decide if it is better to whether leave or to continue to hobnob with that person, it is really to be determinated by the two people involved's personnality, attitude and moral valors versus the circumstances of the lie, the importance the relationship with that person has for the hurted one, and the depht of the inflicted pain.

The best decision is the one that will allow the hurted one to be serene again. And anger and pain can hardly lead to peace of mind. So it needs time to decide wich is the best move to do: the time for the pain to grow smaller, the time to be able to see the situation and understand the feelings more globally, clearly and objectively. The person will take the best decision when her sentiments will be according with her mind regarding that situation, when considered in a point of view that allows her to be more "objective".

I'm not used to these forum mentalities; it's the first time I register on a forum for the fun to participate. When I registered here, I was far from imagining it could be a kind of little family as it is here, and that it would make me feel like a little virtual home. It is even more unexpected that this is a game forum; it's been an amazing surprise to discover how rich and deep are the chat sections.

I'm still new, I don't know a lot of you all, but until now I really love what is going on here and it made me do lots of great discoveries.
