Oh, why not...
An RPG, to me, is a game where you take on a character and play him or her with an actual personality, however basic, so games such as Diablo & Icewind Dale do not count. They are fighting games, not 'true' RPGs. Games like Spell Force and WarCraft 3 are closer, in fact...
Planescape: Torment - best CRPG ever. 99%. This one has everything, including the most in depth character development possibilities I have ever seen in a computer game. Party members are not just meaningless grunts, but have complete histories and distinct personalities. There's plenty of fighting, character interaction, questing and all the usual elements of an RPG, plus a very unique feel all its own.
Baldur's Gate - Good, but too big. 75%. The first 'true' RPG in the sense that a tabletop role player would recognise, but most of the potential party members are just grunts with useful powers and the 'explore anywhere' possibilities make the game just too open. I finished, but not many of my friends did.
Baldur's Gate 2 - A definite improvement on BG1. 85%. Suffers from very poor romantic sub plots, with the only really viable choice turning out to be your character's sister, which is annoying. Big, but not TOO big, and has an excellent plot. One major drawback is that one of your characters will get kidnapped for far too long and so lag badly in levels for the rest of the game.
Baldur's Gate: Throne Of Baal - 85%. A lot of good stuff, tight plotting, and some serious spells. A good attempt at mid to high level play. Beyond that, it's more BG2, really
Lionheart - 60%. For the first half, this is one of the best RPGs ever. The system is great, the game is involving with a ton of intriguing side quests and a huge variety of ways to develop your character. There are so many people to interact with and so much to do that you won't be bored for an instant. The second half is one long fight. Talk about a let down...
Divine Divinity - 80%. Suffers from a boring final third that lowers the overal score. Otherwise, this is a great game. But then you guys all know that
Beyond Divinity - 60%. Excellent plotting and dialogue, but there are just too many faults in the game system for this to score higher.
Neverwinter Nights - 50%. Worst RPG I've ever played. Plot based bugs randomly deleted essential quest items between areas, there is little real character development opportunity, and overall it was dreadful in every way. This is the original. I did not get any of the expansions.
That's about it, IIRC... I'll add more if I think of them
Just as a final note - I do not play games with turn based combat, hence no Temple Of Elemental Evil, etc. I just don't like them.
