if U need any help beautyfying the map, I'm willing to do so.

BTW the map is it the world as it's now? or something else? I've been thinking it could be an alternate dimension. Tectonics and earthquakes etc turned out a quote different but still in large lines similar world.

And the idea for a map is a wonderful one - I'll try to give you adequate info on the geograhic situation of the EMC, which (so far) will be composed of ten states and cover Europe up to the Ural mountains.

With the limited number of cultures/societies I find Drag's consideration for reduced dimensions a suitable one - notion supported.

Lews mentioned airplanes - are we, do we want to be, at that stage yet?

Maybe, but it would be extremely rare and there would be severe complications such as limited range and difficulty finding space to take off and land. Wind-mana guided air baloons would be more common, though still rare.

In my mind so far it has been Earth, simply for ease of transition. If we are drawing the map, then there's little issue with reshaping the world. We can easily see where the lands are in relation to each other. The only problem we might encounter is that the cultures' descriptions fit the current geographical layout.

By the way, do we intend to form a party ?

I don't know. Do you?

I imagine that when it comes to making a solution, we will have to form into one party or two opposing parties, otherwise people will be left out of the ending.

Yes, I thought of that all. I went with metric, and I searched manatopia-the world and found airplaines mentioned so added a platform. This is a very rich company, I'm guessing, so they can afford it.

For the map, I have a couple of blank world maps on my pc; up to now the only modification to the landshapes I had in mind was the place where the disater of the intro occured, but as I said I'm ready to adapt to any idea. Also, as the maps are simply black lines forming the silhouettes of the continents on a white background, it won't really be difficult to reshape some lands if that's what you want.

And thanks for your offer Drag, I won't forget it.

About the party thing and character creation, some things are not clear for me. Is the story gonna be like the result of the individual parallel stories of each character, or will the characters all interact with each other? And if it is so, will there be a definite main plot to be already planned, or will the story evolve by itself in any direction?

hey everyone!

this is simply great! so many inputs & all are so creative! this is getting better & better.

like La Fille, i am still on the drawing board for Seat of Heaven but the way things are right now, i am hoping that one of the players will combine force with me to draw up SoH kingdom via story.

@ Draggy -> your character reminds me of Brad Pitt's character in Seven Years in Tibet. very retrospective & yet ravels a lot of current situations. this is great. maybe we can work together? as Al puts it, shall we party? hope u don't mind waiting me up a bit for me to finish writing up SoH details. sorry.

@ Al -> i knew u would try something new & go tribal. way to go! maybe in the future u'll write a short story based on Manatopia.

@ Lews & Glance -> since u guys are on EMC, maybe both of u can work together to make the facts consistent & the kingdom flows? since metric system is made in Europe so it makes sense for EMC to use it. as for other kingdoms & places, i'm not too sure. u can use a standard monetary/exchange system for global transaction. if u can think up of something, feel free to suggest. HEF's idea on manavice medium is good.

@ HEF -> does your character live in EMC?

for storyline, i think we can develop our own via parallel or to coincide with the main plot. we have freedom to do so. however it's wise to discuss among those involved to make the story flows better & consistently. is Seth joining? i hope he will.

OK - EMC is posted.

I hope geograhical descriptions are adequate for implementation in the map. Otherwise, make a decision, or ask me

I inserted some (very lose) ends of history - if you're not happy with anything, nothing is set in concrete. If you want expansions, I'll have to light a pipe and think for a while

Great job, GlanceALot! That will help a lot, especially with the world map to accompany it.

Where is the Manathyan Temple? It reminds me of Vatican City.

GlanceALot, you did a great job; everything seems clear enough (except for the small detail of the location of the Manathyan Temple location ) and is well explained. I'll send you a preview of the map for approval when I'm done with it. If all the others present their lands to me like that, making the map should go very well.

I was wondering if some of the posts on the "More forum roleplaying?" thread should be moved on the "Manatopia: the world" thread. Or do you intend to refine those ideas and post something new later?

Don't speculate on what inspired me - if it inspires you, it serves its purpose

@ Drag: save for the geographic description, this is the condensed version. Manatopia's Europe is less complex than ours, but it is still not a homogenous culture - or should I say its culture IS, that it is contradictory, conflicting, and a cocktail, the recepy of which varies with he who makes and shakes it.

@ LaFille: [color:"orange"] Or do you intend to refine those ideas and post something new later? Me? Nothing has to be moved for my sake - and whether I will refine and add more cultural details, is up to the authors to request. But I would make a proviso:

It can be as much guidance, as it can be limiting creativity.

Oups... didn't express me well enough. I was talking mostly about these posts on telepathy & the Floating Islands, language & communication, superrnatural beings, etc.
English people never thought about adding a specific word for the plural 3rd person pronoun.

@ Glance -> Draggy is right when he called u crazy. what u wrote for EMC is so brilliant u have to be crazy to think up of all that! impressive!!

my next bet is La Fille; she'll kick the standard bar a lot higher.

now that leaves me & my uninspired carpal syndrome; all the ideas & images & motions in my head, i can't seem to be able to write them down in a cohesive manner. i started off by writing some sort of traveller's guide to SoH; meaning it'll be casual info on the kingdom which is not too detailed so that will leave room to explore. this idea should've been good as traveller's guide can be prone to misinformation so there is always room for 'correction' & improvisation. still i can't even get a paragraph off right. *janggut is a deeply flawed perfectionist*

do lend me your inspiring pipe, oh Glance.

@ Draggy -> if u have any idea, PM me anytime so we can start right away. i can supply info so u don't have to wait for me to finish my misinformed guide.

@ HEF -> glad u're enjoying all of these! thanks for starting it off. by the way, since Fille asked, is my write-up on KoH accepted into the Manatopia canon?

So, I am crazy?
And LaFille is a little wild!?
What a mixture

Well then, guys, keep it up and match it

[color:"orange"] do lend me your inspiring pipe, oh Glance.
Sorry, Janggut, no chance - toothbrushes, girlfriends and pipes are never ever lent (not necessarily in that sequence)
