The Saurians voted to remain large dinosaurs and look what happened - we have cuddly bears able to take down the biggest lizards available.

I'm not so sure about that. Bears are lucky they never run into this little honey .

One bite is enough. It's not their sharp teeth or that they're so extremely strong. What makes them so deadly is all the bacteria they carry in their mouths.

But that aside.
I liked the system in old Greece. Couple 1000 years ago. People got together on the market square and everybody could have their say. More or less anyway. It was sure more democratic than anything we have today.
Even with a referendum. Goverments often say it's not binding. That's a way of saying: "See what good rulers we are? We let you have your say too."
But (and they don't say that, but that's what it means): "After you had your say, we don't give a [nocando] and do whatever we want anyway."
Democracy is something that doesn't exist and can't be created. Voting and elections haven't got much to do with democracy. Often you don't get to vote for someone you think should represend you. Even more often when you do get to vote for that someone others will team up and form a goverment, leaving the one who got most votes out. Often voting is just choosing between one bad and another bad. Often, after being elected, people who got a lot of votes make a 180° degree turn and forgot all promisses. And so on and on...
Voting, elections and politics just upset me. I have to deal with politicians and "high placed members of the community" (womit smiley) daily. It's a bowl of slime that gets more repulsive daily.
