I am waiting for the picture of your "poussins".

@ Spick
Cagney and Lacey are lovely.

@ LaFille
I really like the first pic of your doggy. She still looks like a baby on this pic.

to all of u, wow! very gorgeous pets!

Barta, i'm surprised u let BC (Black Chicken) loose to fly around. are u not afraid that it might fly to the neighbours? when u are at work, is it also outside or do u keep it in the house? *chicken being pet is quite a mystery to janggut*

Hey Janggut, most of us Europians don't keep them inside, but outside. We keep them for their eggs and when they are fat enough we sometimes eat them. But not me, I can't kill any animal that I took care for. And chickens can be really sweet to, like the ones my husband has.
And about the Black Chicken not flying away, I don't think she would, normally chickens stay close to their rooster, so she always comes back. And chickens like to sleep high above the ground. In trees for example
I hope I could clear up some of the mystery for you, Jang?

@ Barta
Still waiting for the hubby, he can't pic them up yet, the mother wont let him

Here is at least one of the little baby chicks we could make a decend photo of. The others look practicly the same. These chickens are from the Chabo breed.Example of a Chabo rooster
They make very good mothers, you can easely take eggs from others breeds and put them under the chickens. I hope you like the babies?

Here is my 2 favourite "kids"
Jessy & Tantrum

They are more human than most people i have observed (image is on a url link, due to resizing issues)

my other "kid" brought home her own pet tooooo.... i just cant seperate them now... (drumstix was found in a very bad condition wandering around in the street, and was brought home by Dutchess, unharmed... the first 2 days i was not allowed close to the chicken (probably thought i would take it away), after that i could treat the chicken's feet (has some fugal disease on), but as long as dutches was in the room.... otherwise, the chicken wanted to be by dutchess. Its been 3 weeks since then, the chicken's condition has improved vastly... she sleeps with dutchess in bed, eats with her, play with her etc. (Dutchess will pick up some thing and drumstix will try to peck it out of her mouth... while dutchess swings her head around, trying to avoid this... this pladying carries on for hours on end. Eventualy dutchess will grow tired and put the stuff down... but still guard it... its then drumstix's mission to steal it and runs away with it... mostly with a now-awake dutchess in tow.... resulting in dutchess trying to grab the stuff and drumstix defending it with a very sharp beak.)

thats my sharpei and HER chicken (drumstix) sharing leftovers...

@ Barta

Thanks for the compliment about the dogs.... i WISH it was my pet chicken (i dont mind having chickens around, and this one is a REAL character... stealing food, coming to look for atention, chasing the cats etc.... but unfortunately its NOT my chicken... the chicken belongs to dutchess.... SHE found it, and she houses it...

I am hardly aloud to come close to the chicken

Its my dog's chichen

But i do agree, she ( i am currently assuming its a hen) is staring to become a lovely chicken now and already a part of the family...
