There were some maps down in the sewers IIRC. Otherwise you're just supposed to collect exp, I think. I got a bit tired of fighting in this stage of the game...
And those games you mentioned was action-rpg's, which IMHO is a totally different genre (well, not totally, but... well, it's a different genre). If you like DD... WEll, I'm not shure if I know any games that simillar to DD, but good RPG's in general is Planescape:Torment, Fallout 1&2 and Arcanum (my top three gbames erver btw). They're kind of old though, so graphics aren't the best. And it's turned based combat, so that part might feel slow for you. And in all three games there is loads and loads of reading (and thinking), so you might run out of patience. But if you find any of them, it's worth giving them a try, cos if you like them, you're simply going to have a great time <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/winkwink.gif" alt="" />.
