According to the newest Xbox 360 specs there won't be higher resolutions as on the "old" Xbox console. But there will be many more details possible right now, that's the main differences.
Edit: Ok, according to heise.de there will be higher resolutions supported, but not with maximum details. Standard resolution will be 720 × 480. http://www.heise.de/newsticker/meldung/59548
