Takeaways, if I'm not mistaken, is the UK way of saying,
Take-Out here in America.

It's Take-Out / Takeaways food from restaurants and such.

I've a question on that.
What's the average cost of a typical Takeaways meal
there in the UK.

Here in the States one would normally pay about
$3.00 to $5.00 US dollars for a Take-Out meal from
a fast food place and maybe $7.00 to $12.00 US dollars
from a simple restaurant.

For a simple Takeaway it's about £3 ($5)
And for a restaurant it's about £7 ($12)

What's a typical for you?

I rarely go to McDonalds or similar places. Maybe couple times a year. And then I always have to order at least 2-3 hamburgers, fries and some more junk. To me going to a restaurant is cheaper.

I haven't been to Mickey D's in over 20 years.
I am a huge Mexican food lover so I'll go to side road
Mexican fast food stops and I Don't mean places
like Taco Bell.

I buy the real stuff.
California has tons of real good authentic Mexican food places.

By the way, the Döner Kebab is an invention made in Berlin. A turkish man, a Mr, Kebab (or was he a Mr. Döner ? Dont remember, because I often mix both. ) invented this in Berlin. He still has his shop somewhere there.

From there, it spread out into the world.

Same happened with the Currywurst (curry sausage) : A sausage with cetchup & curry over it - invented in Berlin. I read that this shop also still exists there somewhere.

I don't go to McDonalds,KFC,Burger King and places like that because i know what they do to their food.

Typical for me is a local Kebab house (take-away)and a Curry/Chinese house (Restaurant takeaway).

KFC, formerly known and addressed by its full name
Kentucky Fried Chicken, I used to go there
when I was a little boy.
That was back in the day when they severed real chicken,
not these pathetic tiny pieces that they call
Wings, Drumsticks, and Breasts nowadays.

Oh, sorry Barta
No offense on the eating chicken's thing.

Lucky you.
I'm soooooo jealous.
No,
I mean
soooooooooooooooooooooooooo jealous.

I like spicy food too.
And I love to experiment with food.
But the mild climate (read: most of the year rain + rather chilly) makes it hard to grow peppers and things here. Even in the greenhouse.

I love Asian food. And in USA (south-east) fi cajun food.

It's funny.
Mexican food here in the States is really only common
in the bordering States next to Mexico.
You go to a State, say like Arkansas,
and they don't even have Enchilada Sauce in their stores;
unless you go to a specialty store.
But things like that are common on our store shelves.
That's one of the things I like so much about my State California
it's so multicultural you can buy almost any type of
ingredients to make almost any food recipe; worldwide.
